Good article, I will have to ask my son about the
7-1, scoreline as he was at East Fife at the time under the direction of Jimmy Bone!đ€Ź

What a great article "Excite me, East Fife!" There`s loads of characters I remember, that just stopped for whatever reason (I started going 1973 or 74 ) I`m not a character, but been mainly working overseas for the last 30 years. One of my old bosses once took public transport to go to Arbroath for a midweek reserve game! He just fizzled out...

There was an older gentleman who sat in the row behind me at EEP always shaking hands as I shuffled to our seats at 14:57 most home matches. Discussing the first half performance at half time ,then he would make his exit before the end of the game. we only knew him as `harry`
As we progressed further and further into the colder months his attendance became less frequent but still attended the odd game here or there. With the same pre-match handshake.
Since COVID he hasn`t been to much if any games but his seat has never been taken and to my knowledge is still reserved.
It`s crazy how you can notice an absence of someone who you only interact with inside EEP. Hope he is well whatever he is doing now to fill his Saturday afternoons.
c'mon the pars

Thanks for direction to the article Stanza. The first big game I was taken to at the age of 10 was Rangers v East Fife. The last 6 names in the East Fife team list were international players, which fascinated me. The colour of the strip I found to be brilliant. Living in Rosyth they were too far away and 4 years later I was a Pars fan. Thanks for bringing back the memories.

As a supporter who went everywhere oh those Tuesday nights to Stranraer I think when we had really achieved everything that I ever wanted to c was one of the things got to cup finals seen us in Europe plus when it got to the point where I was putting more effort into supporting the club than certain players were putting into playing for it the way Steven Kenny was treated was a disgrace

That was a really interesting read, thoroughly enjoyable and Iâm sure every football fan will have come across similar characters over the years. The cry of âsilky footballâ made me laugh!
I think picture number 2 though outside the old Bayview could in fact be a group of Pars fans entering through the turnstiles. Would be interesting to see if anyone recognises themselves or others from the picture.
