It would appear that his son etc walked out in the middle of his service, some strong language involved

You would think the person taking the service would have talked to both sides of the family and put something appropriate together.

We don`t see how difficult it was for the son and his family. You would think they would be able to hold out during the service and just leave quietly, but the history might have made that too difficult.

I thought the son was reasonable and only heard one guy saying it was disgusting, then his language deteriorated. He seemed to be from the other side.

Got to really wonder whats gone on that they can’t be cordial for half an hour. Also, you don’t hear the whole sermon which doesn’t help with context. Supposedly it was all about his new partner and didn’t mention his past with his ex wife at all.

But agree with Parrot, surely could’ve just kept quiet till the end then left and aired differences after the ceremony.

Had a friend that was there and said there was tension from the start.

Billy Braisby and David Cook represented the club and nearly all our former players that played under JC were there. Good to see but shame about this happening.

Funerals can be terrible with when the Eulogy starts as family members have different opinions on how they were treated etc by the deceased.
Obviously something major has happened and the son couldn’t take it anymore.
The guys language at the end was well out of order especially in a place of worship.
As the saying goes “you can choose your friends but not your family”

Really inappropriate language used and regardless of the eulogy his side of the family should have at least waited till it was over or walked out silently in respect of Jimmy.
Clearly both sides of the family weren’t represented in putting the eulogy together so you can understand the feelings on an emotional day.

Looking at it on a tiny phone screen so I may have misunderstood but it looked like those who walked out did so fairly quietly? The terrible shouts were from those remaining?

I thought the same Jeffrey - obviously I didn`t see everything, but Scott was quite respectful in the video. He thanked the chaplain and walked out silently, while others followed, also silently. The shouts and vulgarity came from those remaining.

So sad.

A funeral service is absolutely the last place where families should fall out in public.

RIP Jimmy Calderwood.

I find all the sharing of it on social media to be really disrespectful. Not to mention the fact it`s triggered the usual Old Firm point-scoring knuckle draggers.

Very sad for everyone concerned. It would be sticking in their throat to see their mother disrespected but they maybe should have just sucked it up until the service was over. Possibly easier said than done when emotions run high. The person who organised the service must have expected something was going to kick off with hiring security for the event. That guy with the loud voice went a bit over the top, a bit like he didn`t get the reaction he wanted the first 2 times, so decided to stick a C bomb in there too.

Reading about it on twitter is a disturbing read. Celtic fans absolutely revelling in it. Revolting people,

Ah the usual funeral where all is invited and everyone has an opinion on each side that’s lasted years of bickering and nonesense…

Two "funerals" for two side of the family was the solution here.

For anyone who knows the real details, this disappointing outcome was almost inevitable.

The fact Jimmy`s cortege went past Ibrox. It has re ignited the seethe of the green bit of Glasgow, it was an absolute deliberate act that Jimmy C`s Dunfermline cowered down to the Rangers back in the early 00`s. They really really are the pits of Scottish football. Glad they got suckered in Europe.

RIP Jimmy.

The sad reality is that elements of the other half of the great divide would be just as despicable if the scenario had been in reverse.
