 Passing Out

There`s been discussion in recent weeks about whether the keeper and defenders should keep possession by passing the ball around among themselves before releasing it, or should just go long and hope the attackers can win 50:50 balls. The Guardian has now joined the discussion, suggesting that football could be at a crossroads on this!

That article is a good summing up of the pros and cons of passing out from the back. Like all other walks of life football is affected by fashion and lots of folk like to follow it. I wonder if non-League clubs all use these `playbooks` to show the subs what is required of them when they enter the field of play?
