Apparently a new rule across football starting next season. If the keeper has the ball in his possession for over 8 seconds a corner will be awarded to the opposing team in an attempt to speed up the game. According to the IFAB website.

We`ll see. The six second rule was reasonably well enforced when it first came in but despite never officially being removed from the laws of the game, referees have basically ignored it for many years now. The guidance says that they`ve not to do a six second count IIRC, but are still to award an indirect free kick if they basically take the pee. Yet still we see keepers hold onto the ball for ages and not get punished.

It`s a joke how some of the laws just don`t get enforced and how others get enforced against attackers but not defenders or are enforced differently in various areas of the park.
And as for making players being substituted go off at the closest point of exit: don`t get me started...
