Number 2 should say top 5, but yes. They`d also still have 3 spots for the Europa League and one for the Conference League, so they could in theory have more than half the division in Europe next season.

Is it not the case that UEFA decided that the maximum number of clubs that can be admitted from the same country is 5?
When Liverpool won the CL, having finished outside the top 4, did it not result in the 4th placed PL club (Everton) missing out, or am I havering? 🤔
Not your average Sunday League player.

Everton had to go through qualifiers to get in I think, as Liverpool finished 5th but won the CL.
Shocking that 5 clubs get in anyway - its not a “Champions” league these days - its an exclusive club for the worlds leading teams to share the wealth of UEFA.

I`m just amazed the losers of the final don`t get the old Cup Winners Cup as consolation.

They should just go back to calling it the European Cup instead of Champions League.

I`m tired of hearing all the whining about it mot being a proper European cup. Its a highly enjoyable European tournament with more teams from the top leagues and rightly so. It has evolved into a great tournament and nobody is forcing you to watch it.
The new format has also made it a bit easier for the wee teams to do a bit better. Look at Celtic and Club Brujje.
I love it,as do millions more football fans.

I got to admit I don`t watch it, or even pay attention to the scores. The same clubs, who aren`t even champions playing each other each year does nothing for me

Dont think anyone disputes the quality of the tournament, the teams in it or the new format (which I like) - its the naming of it as the “Champions League” when only 8/9 teams out of 34 are Champions.
Might be petty, but the same people that laud the name also scoff at the Americans for having a “World Series”…….
