Yeh Dandy, but it`s something that`s worth thinking about - maybe a hidden gem or two in our ranks already, e.g:

On the Stirling match thread:

"Rowe seems like a hell of a prospect."

I really hope they do. Guys like the Tod and Sutherland bros have a chance from what I have seen but they have to be ready. We have to ease them into an environment where there`s not too much pressure on them and plenty guys around them that have been around the block to have their backs.

The way things are right now with the playing side, is that they will have to be used ready or not and face some fairly disgruntled fans at the moment.

I’m pessimistic when it comes to the youth set up, I just can’t visualise it working in Scottish football.

Bringing in the Tod and Sutherland brothers, likes of Young - can’t see them performing at a level to help us challenge top end of the table.

If anyone could make it happen though, it would be someone with the experience Brunskill has.

Good article there with Iain Brunskill. Sounds like he`s a modest and level headed guy. I like how he plays down the work he has done with some big name players in developing them, and instead puts the onus on their part in making it happen. I also like how he says that works the other way too. All the players here need to take responsibility for their own development and performance. I think for too long we have had characters here that are all too willing to hide away, not take responsibility and let the manager take the flak. The whole playing staff need a change in mindset

I’ve not had a chance to read the article yet, will get to it later today, but what I will say is that Andy Tod looked like a proper player when he came off the bench against Morton. I really hope he’s given the chance to break through and keeps building on that promise he has shown.

There are probably others worth mentioning too, like his brother, and Sutherland, who’ve caught the eye of a few folk as well.

Andrew Tod is a good example. (Does he prefer to be called `Andrew` or `Andy`?) He`s a young man now - 19. Somebody posted that he`s worked on his physique -
gymn work maybe pumpin iron. He`s quite photogenic now, he`s a first team option.

He`s Andrew to avoid being confused with his dad, oaup. I`ve called him `Grandson of God` and he quite liked that. 😁

I see John is quite a prospect as well, by all accounts, GG. And with Pars in their blood I`m hoping they may not be too eager to leave. I`m not one for having an eye on selling-on, I want good players to stay. I`m hoping the Pars can progress in unison with them, and match their career ambitions.

It`s been a good day for our young players, and for the Pars generally. I`m pleased as punch.

Aye, JT is an excellent prospect. He`s a very mature player for his age and a good sensible lad off the pitch, as is Andrew. I`m not going to be drawn on who is the better prospect on a public forum as many of the players read this even though they`re advised not to. Both lads have the talent to carve out a decent career and the also have the application, determination and level headedness required.

Those qualities are what came across to me in the interview Andrew did after the Morton game. (Don`t think John`s done an interview yet?) Proper pros both of them.

What I said about the Tod brothers applies to all our young players - I`m excited by what they`ve achieved and continue to achieve, and that we`re seeing many involved with the first team now.

I think it was brilliant that they got to go to Bulgaria, and I`m glad in the friendlies to see that most of them got some playing time.

I recently caught Andrew Tod, Grandson of God, in Aldi (true story, not an Easton fairytale) and his basket was bursting with avocados. He`s a serious sportsman.

What was he doing that you had to catch him?
Seriously though, I just cannot believe how strong he looks in comparison to when he started. Really hope this is the young team’s breakthrough year and they all stake their claim. Would be very satisfying.

🤣😂🤣 Andrew was similarly "caught" by my colleague, in a supermarket straight after a school visit, again with a basket of avocados.

I should probably know this, but do avocados have some serious health advantages compared to other fruit and veg? Popeye was born after a German scientist found that spinach contained 10 times more iron than any other green veg.

He later discovered he`d actually put the decimal point in the wrong place. 🙄 😀
