There in spirit only today.
I know it’s a tad early but seeing Ritchie-Hosler, Chikoa-Mullen, Oakley-Boothe, Amade and, I think, Bray, dandering to get the team bus has me typing on the forum at 0945 on a Saturday.
Looks like it could be a braw day ~ here’s hoping the weather keeps up in Dumbarton, too.
If ye get the team line up afore me please post it here.
Mon the Paaaars!

Been very comfortable since the goal, Dumbarton had some early pressure but Mehmet made a couple of saves.
I`m still not convinced in the attack we get enough from our current wingbacks, hopefully that`s something Lennon can progress in the coming weeks.

Never understood how McPake barely gave him a sniff. Looked sharp any time he did get minutes. Under Lennon the boy`s flying and looks full of confidence and starting to impress. Exactly what you want to see. Keeps that level up and it forces a few others to raise their game or risk watching from the bench. Competition for places can only be a good thing.

We`re a bit laboured in build-up. Could do with more incision, which we achieve sometimes, but credit to the Sons they`re not leaving much space and are closing down quickly. I`m hoping they`ll tire and we`ll get more joy up front. Mehmet`s been good. Cooper has driven us forward in midfield sometimes. We`re doing OK, got to keep tight at the back because they are up for this game and having beaten Stirling Albion, they took confidence from that.

it’s a positive result and great to get some goals, if we do something similar against Hamilton midweek then it feels like confidence is growing.
Dumbarton relegated last season after going into admin so will be interesting to see how they get on this season, they usually had the pick of the part timers so we’re usually a handy team.

That`s the most enjoyable evening of Pars TV I`ve had in a long, long time.
I know Dumbarton are in a lower division, but the energy and inventiveness of the Pars was just a joy to watch (I missed the first 35 mins though).
So many positives. Two Tods, but of whom were awesome. A Cooper double. A great goal for Kane. Amade looked excellent. Bray was lively when he came on. Kearney (sp?) whipped in so many good crosses. JT breaking from defence. JCM breaking from defence. So many occasions when we lost the ball, but then won in back. Hamilton had a real sense of purpose when he came on. Dummies, wee flicks, jumpers for goalposts etc.
I could go on and on and on.
I can`t remember when I`ve felt this optimistic about a season to come.

It was a good performance and a good result, but I`m not getting carried away. Still need to see a lot more from KRH, and Otoo needs to work on his crossing if he`s going to be playing wide left. That said, it was great to see the young boys all playing with confidence, and its good to see some different options on the bench. Onwards and upwards.

Very good performance from the Pars. Shea Kearney is going to be big for us. His deliveries into the box will be Christmas time for our strikers.
Cooper, as I’ve said in previous threads should have been a regular a long time ago.
He’s hungry and has the ability.
Whatever else happens this season, scoring goals will not be an issue based on what I’ve seen.

needed a big win and got it although it could have been more if they had been a bit better in the final third in the last 20 minutes.
you will see a numberless shirt now and again cause of a blood injury, not often you see a shirt with no sponsor on it though, Fyfe cause of his age and who the sponsor is.

The main thing that has impressed me about John Tod is that he is willing to take the responsibility of bringing the ball out of defence. Both by dribbling and passing through the lines. To have that confidence as a centre half is great to see.

We have struggled against teams like Dumbarton in the past, so it was a good result in anybodies book. We were very good when we lost the ball, recovering and recycling it to manage the play better than previously. We moved the ball around well in tight positions and looked to go forward when we could. A solid performance overall and importantly with goals, and in particular, goals from outside the box. We have a good depth of squad, maybe 2 or 3 needed, for the league campaign. We controlled the game apart from the first 10 minutes or so. John Todd put in another solid performance, TOB again looks the part and Cooper looking sharp with two well taken goals. The midfield generally looked strong. They are playing with more confidence, driving forward, which is good to see. A good test against Hamilton coming up. It will give us a good idea where we are for the league campaign. Good to see a good confident performance today.

India that’s defo not the Dumbarton of the past, admin and relegation has gutted them of the best of the part timers they could usually attract.
It’s a pleasing result right enough and the team is much changed alongside the shedding of the loser mentality so bodes really well, mainstays last season starting to look like the players who would drop out, that’s when you know you have improved. Hamilton the next test which is a much harder test than today but you can only beat what’s in front of you.
Really keen to see how we stand up against the much bigger more physical teams in our own league where we won’t get the space to play etc but with a few more players still to come in everything pointing in the right direction.

I think the context to look at here, as in the past even against weaker oppostion it doesnt seem to be as much of a gulf in quality as it should be so it is very good to see that even against lower league team we are showing far greater quality against these sides than before, that kearney looks a player, the tod brothers are very exciting and i hope the best for the future, amade is a class signing, cooper is showing us what we may have missed from him last season, its also good to see us converting chances, ik we only scored 1 against hearts however we look far far more clinical

I didn’t see todays - watched all previous- what I’m absolutely loving is Lenny’s use of in form players regardless of age. We all know there’s 3 of 4 more seniors to come in … but they won’t be stick ons for the team sheet if an 18 year old is out working and performing you in training.
I’m absolutely pumped for the season ahead. And while still sober, will say we will be top 3 come the end of the season. 4th can be a late surge or slide. 3rd.

Very happy with that today but not getting carried away, as NL says we`re showing glimpses of what we can do. I think going forward we still have a bit of quality to add and aren`t quite there which is exciting given just scoring four.
A Kearney type on the left hand side would make a huge difference, although Otoo the one time he did get in behind we scored from, hopefully see more of that from him.
Cooper putting up some excellent numbers already, midfield and defence strolled it.
Interesting comments about Young, if it`s a work rate thing then it`s good to see there`s a no tolerance policy and being bombed from the squad when we`re winning will be pretty hard to take, hopefully he reacts well.
