Dot.Net Prediction League 25/26 - You Know You Want To
Topic Originator: Stella Kozma
Date:   Fri 25 Jul 09:47

Sincere thanks to all those patiently waiting for the new seasons Prediction League to go live.

Everything should now be in place to let those predictions flow.

Not much new to say. Predict each and every league match as best you can, add to that who you think will be top scorer and who you think will win the league.

There is a non-obligatory donation of JUST £5 which will go to the Disabled Supporters Lift Fund. As many will know planning permission and building warrants at at Fife Council. But every little helps.

Prizes, gifted by those lovely people at Dot.Net are for the most points by a predictor making the above donation - a season ticket at KDM Group EEP for the following season.

Additionally, Brian and his team will select three spot prizes during the season of £50 each.

If you usually enter then please do so again and a huge thanks for your support over the years.

If you have never taken part before then please do give it a go. It will add just a wee bit more excitement to each and every match day.

Go on - give it a go - you know you want to.

Just for clarity we accept predictions from pets and PARrots too!!

No worries.

Our records show the donation coming in.

Brian`s team will make the necessary changes in due course.

They tend to lie down on a Friday before emerging as PARs TV on a Saturday.

Mr PARrot,

You are such a happy clapper!! - it made me laugh.

Have you never heard of a false dawn?

Maybe, of course, the net curtain over your cage every night meant you have no idea what a real dawn is!!

Regardless, great to have you on board.

Loads of respect,

Stella Kozma

Lots of folk know nothing about the prediction league.
Maybe we could get the press to mention it.
They wouldnt do it while it was sponsored but might do it as the funds are voluntary and go to charity.

Hopefully some socials going out soon.

Numbers so far good but I would love it if double that could feel they wanted to pitch in too.

Just logged my first scores.
Total guesswork
Im afraid I have us down to lose 2-1
A slightly nervy start at a higher level than what they are accustomed to

I could be pleasantly surprised.

First Two Weeks Predictions for me are.

Arbroath Ayr United 2 2
Airdrieonians Ross County 2 1
Morton Dunfermline 2 1
Raith Rovers Queens Park 2 1
St Johnstone Partick Thistle 3 2
Ayr United Raith Rovers 3 2
Dunfermline Airdrieonians 2 1
Partick Thistle Morton 1 1
Queens Park Arbroath 2 0
Ross County St Johnstone 3 1

Do not fall off your perch but PARrot and I agree on the Pars first match, sadly.

Do not forget to at least get Arbroath v Ayr United, League winners and Top scorer in by 19:40 Friday night, aka tomorrow. Then the Saturday matches by 14:55 on Saturday.

Points mean prizes and we cannot let the PARrot win as he will squawk and squawk non-stop.

51 predictors willing to put their reputations on the line so far.

Only hours to go now.

Existing contestants remember to select top scorer and league winners.

New entrants just about to enter the fray. Select top scorer, league winners and Friday Night Under The Lights result too. Then relax before then adding the remaining four fixtures kicking off on Saturday.

Surely the wee team will bottle it!?

Several contestants still haven`t entered their predictions for League Winner and Top Scorer, and I presume this needs to be done before 7.30 tonight?

Maybe a direct email could be sent to those involved reminding them that the window will then slam shut, as football windows never seem to close gently. 😀

The system is normally set up to send out automatic reminders.

Hopefully that is still the case.

Regarding top scorer - this is something that will probably be too late to adjust for this season, but it will not go away as an issue. So can be looked at for next year in the Premiership!

I shall look at top scorer update.
Yes at present needs to be done by 7:30pm tonight
But let`s see if I can change,

I might send email out as reminder.
Automatic reminders may need to be enabled 🤦‍♂️
Another task 😁

Anybody that correctly guesses the top scorer at this stage deserves to win. I can`t remember who I picked but it was a pretty random guess. I think I picked the Irish lad that Ross County signed.

The "Actual Score" for Arbroath -Ayr is shown on the system as 0-1, so needs to be corrected. (I want my 5 points! 😁)

EDITED - Good to see there has been a VAR review and the 0-1 scoreline has now been overturned.

The live feed from the SPFL crashed in the 88th minute. We have manually corrected it.

We have also manually adjusted 21 entries to ensure our system correctly allocates points as they are due.

The points have just been recalculated and should now show the true positions.

Only 35 more rounds to see who wins.

Now the competition is underway here are this years early statistics.

We have 50 runners and riders - some will fall away as the going gets tough but others will simply rise to the winners perch.

Only 5 teams have been selected as potential winners. Ross County and St Johnstone way out in front with Partick Thistle, Dunfermline and Ayr United way back in the chasing pack. The Rovers were so far in the distance with no takers you can hardly see them - hence their name the Wee Team.

Top Scorer always causes more divisions of thought. This season there are 15 considered good enough for glory. Not withstanding the transfer window is still wide open. Ronan Hale is the firm favorite with George Oakley, Josh Cooper and James Gullan between them matching Ronan`s total.

Will Webby win, will Stanza stall, will PARrot fly to the top, will Buffy`s Buns come out the oven over cooked, will KozmasRightFoot kick on or is Buster Brown already bust?

Time will tell. But what is certain is DADSC (the Disabled Supporters Club) thanks and applaud you all for making the competition real.

Going Up First Floor for Legends and Rennie Suites.
