So …. Who in your opinion has come in and been an upgrade on last season …
For me so far Kearney … for Comrie
Gilmour for Chalmers
Amade for Hamilton
Davidson for Breen and Fisher
McLeod ..let’s wait and see … for C.Young

Don’t agree with the latter, he’ll have been brought in to supplement our attacking options not that it’s viewed as an upgrade on Young.
Rest though are about right!

It is a bit too early to say, although I agree with the general idea that most of the players brought in look like an improvement on some of last season`s squad.
Kearney & Gilmour - yes, already confident about both of them. Both of these 2 look like regular starters.
Davidson looks a better all round player than Breen - although Breen was when fit a decent enough centre back - he barely played last season anyway. Fisher is still here, he might well be away by the end of the window and barely featured at all last year.
Amade looks like he will get around the park better than Hamilton, a bit quicker on the ball. Hamilton has been quite good in pre-season and the league cup - can also do a job at centre back. Neither seem to be first choice at the moment.
Macleod looks good so far, not seen much. Is he a forward or a 10? Or can he do both. I don`t see him as a replacement for Young, in fact he should hopefully be the guy to play the through balls that Young needs. Probably more of a replacement for Matty Todd, in which case, he seems to have more creativity and better passing for the 10 role.

For the players who have left I agree it`s been about improvement in the team. For tge others it`s about competition for places and the squad generally. It will be horses for courses

Results will dictate whether they are upgrades or not but from what I e seen the team as a whole are much better. We look stronger in midfield, Gilmour makes a huge difference

Definitely upgrades, even if we are still a little short.
I would say Hamilton definitely has a good part to play, whether coming on to shore up midfield, or playing as a starter when we might need some robustness.
Ditto Matty Todd, it`s a big year for him, but he has a full pre season behind him which he didn`t have previously due to injury -its up to him now, hope he can kick on.
I`ve maintained from the start that I would be happy this season just to comfortably avoid relegation spots-that would be a welcome improvement.

Getting off to a flyer can be the catalyst to a good/great season.
I’m a little concerned with our slow starts in games which seems to be recurring but we are able to finish games strongly.
I just hope we can work on taking it to our opponents from kickoff.
A striker is much needed as we simply can’t rely on Kane being fit.
