Massive and I mean massive upgrade on what we had last season, if Lenny can keep boothe interested and with amade the midfield finally looks good enough to compete.

I’ve been impressed with Gilmour every time I’ve seen him.

He was outstanding today, physical enough to control the midfield and technically great at picking passes. For once, I don`t think midfield is a glaring issue going into the season which I haven`t thought about since the Falkingham/Geggan days.

Himself and Oakley bossed the midfield, really impressed with them both.

TOB - His movement is excellent, knows how to shield the ball & find a teammate.
Very impressive.

The best we`ve came up againt in recent years at our level was Stanton and Brown that season when Raith were flying.
Did all the donkey work and tonnes off the ball, broke up play and let Easton do the stuff that was easier on the eye.
Early days but i`m hopeful we may have something similar in this partnership.

TOB looks the real deal. I see him being a big player for us this season. Gilmour has been outstanding and even more importantly consistent. He has taken a bit of pressure off the defence so we look much more solid. KRH is coming back into form and more like his old self. Good team performance today that will only get better. There is much more purpose about our game and a bit of invention from set pieces.

Really liked TOB, he`s quality, and improving
Gilmour was excellent, probably MOM.
KRH was a handful too, seems to have more aggression about him, and was marked by at least 2 defenders, which is always good.

Couldn’t make today but I’m glad there was a good team performance. Felt like we were months into last season before we seen 1 of those

I like him as well, he gets better each time I see him. TOB was better was well today. It is a solid partnership forming there.
The only thing I would question is, do we need one of them to get forward a bit more regularly - both can shoot but neither make many runs into the box. With 3 centre backs behind them, especially like in the second half yesterday when we are well on top, maybe we need a bit more adventure.

Think this is a good point and we saw that in part last week against Stirling at home. Might be one of those cases where Lennon will have to tweak it depending on the game. Amade is a bit more adventurous with his passing so might be a better option in matches where we need to break teams down or are chasing a goal. Bray, Matty Todd etc can also drive forward in the midfield but once we have more striker options we'll see how that's utilised

Something I just remembered that I loved with Gilmour is right at the end of the first half he shoots from a free kick in our half, it didn`t pay off granted but I really liked how he recognised their goalie was playing quite high the full game and also the amount of times you see in football now where teams try and build attacks when there`s seconds left on the clock instead of getting a shot off or putting the ball in the box. That showed a high football IQ for me.

Amade looks great too.
Any two of those three in midfield should be competitive against most teams this year. Just a question of the best blend.
