Why does Scotland only have one team in it but Ireland and Northern Ireland have 2 teams? Is it something to do with the coefficient?

Probably, imagine Ireland and Northern Ireland have less teams competing for Champions League & Europa?

I`ve just noticed that im wrong. Scotland have 2 teams in it. When hibs were knocked out of the Europa League, they dropped down into the qualifying rounds for the conference league.
I thought that every country only had 1 participant for some reason. Maybe the rules changed from last year or maybe (more likely) I got my wires crossed.

Irish/Northern Irish teams losing in previous rounds of other competitions.
Win the first qualifying round you stay in that competition but lose in CL first qualifying round you then go into Europa 2nd qualifying, etc etc.
Gives this brillaint scenario Shelbourne beat linfield in the first CL qualifying round putting linfield into the conference qualifiers where they beat Zalgiris and now play vikingur. If they win that they will play loser of Shelbourne vs Reikja which is a Europa league playoff after Qarabag beat Shelbourne in the round after they beat linfield
Potential for linfield to be knocked out of 2 european tournaments by the same side.

It`s all about bit overly complicated. Get beat and you`re out, that`s how it should be, but I suppose it gives the smaller teams a second chance, which is a good thing.

They need to get rid of the Conference League places for the top 5 (maybe 7) leagues. It was designed for clubs from smaller nations to have a chance of glory but has been won by Italian and English clubs, who also have 4/5/6 clubs in the Champions League.
