I worked beside him many years ago. A farmer`s son from Aberdeenshire, he was a Dons fan when he came to Edinburgh. He played for the office football team and would kick anything that moved!

He was certainly a determined and ambitious guy who did well for himself. I lost touch with him and didn`t know he was ill.
