With Cooper and Caceres taking the corners, at long last, these now represent a significant scoring opportunity. With the addition of Rudden, we now have four or five target men to cause havoc among opposition defences.
If I have one criticism/concern, it is that we don`t adequately allow for the overshot corner by having a player standing deep on the far side when a corner is taken.

On the subject of corners, I can`t
understand why defender`s get
away with their arms round players
holding them back. Why are
penalties not awarded nowadays.

That`s a good point JockPar. Defenders wrapping their arms round attackers, gripping the jersey etc. doesn`t seem to get punished. On the other hand, the wee nudge in the back and taking leverage on a defenders shoulders goes unpunished too. There`s so much cheating going on and refs turn a blind eye.

The corner on Saturday was the right height, right strength and into the right area.
As far as Caceres is concerned it`s good to see someone looking up before they cross the ball.
Amade is another player who always looks around for the pass. These things make a big difference.

Certainly have a bit more hope at corners and set pieces due to the ability of the taker and having the likes of Mullen , John Todd and Rudden who are all willing to attack the ball .

Definitely notice a very deliberate way they are driven in this season, not really whipped in like an old school out / in swinger but almost floated in with a straight trajectory.

I`ve been a bit critical of the lack of variation with the corners, but there is clearly a plan behind it (based on data perhaps?). The goal on Saturday was played in with more pace than most of the corners Cooper has taken. Mullen seems to be quite good at getting on the end of them, even if he rarely hits the target with his headers.
It is good to have more options in terms of takers, Caceres looked decent and from the little I have seen Bray also has good delivery.
