It’s not just assault charges its serious assault charges. Benedictus and Fisher both due in court, but no dates appear to have been set for the actual trial.

They appeared in private so dates won’t be available to the public for that reason.

Can’t be as bad as what Declan Gallagher did? He didn’t exactly do his time for that either. Bene has previous though so it might go against him. I’m sure there’s a few in here that got into trouble in their younger days so I won’t judge.
Gallagher was imprisoned for over a year then monitored with a tag after released. If either are found guilty, they should be released. If they are innocent, then play on 🤷🏻♂️

From what I gather, the club has reviewed the CCTV footage and it looks like the incident was a brief scuffle, with clear signs of self-defence. If that’s the case, I don’t see any real issue. Let’s be honest, most of us have found ourselves in situations where things escalated unexpectedly and a few punches were thrown. It happens, let move on from it.
Bene’s a class act as captain, always makes time for the fans, and without fail, hands his armband to a young supporter after every match. It’s a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about his character and connection to the supporters.

Bene has previous convictions for assault, so with another charge, this time for assault to endanger life, I think he’ll be fortunate to avoid jail. Fisher’s case could be different, but either way, this doesn’t look good for the individuals or the club.

There does seem to be a big assumption of guilt by multiple posters any time this topic is raised on a thread. Probably not as clear cut as some of you seem to imagine.
