As a suggestion to support Brian and his team with state of the art equipment ,can we set up a go fund me and everyone who uses parstv can contribute and eliminate the attacks on the guys for poor quality service.

Likewise. Appreciate all that Brian and the team do. Fantastic to have a service like this for all of us who can’t regularly attend games.

Is it not the case that connectivity is the issue rather than the equipment? Not sure what can be done about that unless someone`s invented a foldaway 5G mast.

Would starlink help?

I would also be happy to contribute, and hugely value the service. However as Jake says perhaps the bulk of problems are cause by lack of facilities at many away grounds. Brian can perhaps advise if there is some kit that would help.

I think Brian posted before saying he`d tried starlink but it wasn`t great.

I looked at setting one up once and it needs a pretty precise angled position and a clear line of sight to the sky. With large metal stands all around, and the equipment under one of these, this isn`t really possible.

4G/5G can be challenging because of congestion (thousands of people using it in a confined area).

What would work would be proper structured cabling and a broadband connection for streaming (by the home or away club). I`d imagine every club has an internet connection already but it`s the space/cabling that isn`t setup.

Brian and team get a fair amount of stick but our club are in a position to try to improve things. David Cook sits on the SPFL Board. Maybe he should be tabling an item for discussion suggesting this becomes part of the bronze/silver/gold club licensing? If teams found their license level dropping they might slowly take action.

If it`s anything short of British Army mobile satellite communications systems I`m going to be disappointed.

I guess it`s easy enough to map out mobile coverage for each of the grounds we visit, but less easy to understand how the networks operate under load with a crowd on a match day. Without dedicated 5G Standalone things are going to be out of control.

And there seems to be loads of problems with clubs not committing to provide space at all, or at least on a timely basis.

Would it not be easier if the Home club was streaming, to be required to give the away club access to the footage if requested. Would save on having to have all equipment etc at away games.

I commented on other thread about the starlink, it is very good but needs line of sight.

great to get support from fans.

there are mechanisms to provide a remote feed out that can help clubs (terminology is an RTMP push of the video stream). This can work to get a feed with less than a second delay.
Clubs need to work together to produce a solution, there are plenty options technically to make this situation easy.

As much as all the volunteers in all the clubs need to be commended for their time and effort, it feels like solving this from the technology angle isn`t the way to do it to me.

Seems it`s more a case of the clubs needing to stick to agreed standards, it`s in everyone`s mutual interest.

Must be frustrating to turn up and find the facilities aren`t there-even the week before, I seem to remember the commentators saying they were in a different part (in the rain?)

I`ve got to say though, the quality has been excellent, I can`t remember the last time there were any problems of note(I watched the Saints game in Malta on BBC via VPN) but it must be a worry setting off and not knowing if the tech will work.

Certainly at EEP has been a while since there were any real problems. As above, I am very grateful.

I mentioned it before and I`m sure Brian confirmed it had been looked it, but the solution would be to have the same set up in all the Championship clubs. Whoever the home team is manages the stream and commentary and that stream is open to all subscribers regardless of club. Clubs receive the subscription fees (minus costs) based on which club fans pick when they sign up.

I’d be delighted to kick some money in. Brian was really helpful to me recently when I was trying to get the audio for the Arbroath game.

Someone set the crowdfunder up please. Either that or I’ll just stick some folding money in an envelope and address it to “Brian parstv, east end park”.
