This season is reminding me a little bit of the start of Bert Paton`s first season in charge. We were playing well, but we couldn`t buy a win.
It`s not quite the same, because I think we were playing better under Bert Paton, but I feel like his initial results were actually worse. Someone with a better memory will be able to remind me.
I feel like the majority of the fan base under Bert Paton could see the direction we were going and were fairly confident that the results would come. In the end we had some amazing seasons under his management.
Of course, we still have to get points on the board and NL needs to play his strongest team, but I`m pretty optimistic that we`re close to being a much better team than the last few managers have put out on the park. I`m more optimistic than I`ve been in years, despite the last couple of results.
A young team will need the fans to be supportive and patience. I think they`ll reward us with some great performances if we give them that.

The way I remember it is we lost the first three, won the next two (including Airdrie at East End where Sharpie getting sent off in the first 5/10 minutes made a first win look unlikely), then lost two more.
That was the last season of two points for a win and someone, Clydebank I think, had maximum points so were 10 ahead after seven games. We started clawing them back after then at an average on one a game until we were eventually top.
In the end we just lost out to Falkirk but, as many of you will remember, had it been three points for a win we`d have won it that season.
