Callum McGregor? He retired from international football after last year`s Euros.
Alllan McGregor should still be in with a shout though tbf.

Dykes and Hirst are in there as `target men` to bring our much better midfielders into play. Shankland isn`t a replacement for either as that`s not how he plays, despite being a striker.
The argument should be whether Shankland or Bowie gets the call as Adams backup. And it`s Bowie for me all day long.

Ross Stewart back fit again and amongst the goals, decent as a lone striker too.
Will be spaces to fill soon anyway when Tierney and the other usual suspects pull out with `niggling injuries`.

Hirst is younger and having some success at a comparative level. Only thing I think about Hirst is he looks like he needs a kick in the backside. English Championship is obviously a decent level but there seems to be a lot of talented but complacent players there.

For a Scotland squad today, I’d take Shankland. Bowie is a good youngster and has a lot learn. I think Shankland would get you goals and you can rely on his performance levels.
