🏆 EMOTIONAL VICTORY: Matty Todd Dedicates Goal to Late Granny
Matty Todd produced a performance filled with emotion and quality as he marked his first start of the season with a goal and an assist in Dunfermline`s 4-0 victory over Airdrieonians at the Albert Bartlett Stadium on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old midfielder dedicated his 48th-minute strike to his granny, Rhona Todd, who passed away on Monday morning - just hours before he learned he would be starting the match.
"My granny passed away yesterday morning. I had gone into training. I phoned my dad just asking if she was all right. He said, yeah, I`m going up to see her. Then after training I went home and I had good news saying I was starting tomorrow night. And he came and said, look, your granny`s passed away. It was a tough one. The manager`s been brilliant with me. And that performance tonight was for her," Matty revealed.

⚽ COMPREHENSIVE 4-0 VICTORY OVER AIRDRIE
Dunfermline secured back-to-back Championship wins for the first time since March 2024 with an emphatic 4-0 victory away to Airdrieonians:
- Andrew Tod scored twice (39th and 41st minutes)
- Matty Todd netted his first goal since December 2024 (48th minute)
- Chris Kane added a fourth in stoppage time
- Airdrie finished with 10 men after Liam McStravick was sent off
Manager Neil Lennon praised the performance: "Great goals, great performance. Considering we were (Alfons) Amade, (Charlie) Gilmour, Barney (Stewart) down from Friday night, it was an outstanding squad performance."

🎯 MATTY TODD`S REMARKABLE COMEBACK
Todd`s emotional performance was made even more remarkable given his recent struggles:
- First start of the season after being told he could leave in August
- Had been so far down the pecking order a permanent move was suggested
- Showed incredible strength to play just 24 hours after his grandmother`s passing
- First goal since December 2024 (penalty vs Falkirk)
- Fourth goal at Albert Bartlett Stadium in just six appearances there
"I love the club. It`s my club - Dunfermline, so I`m buzzing to be here and still play my part," Todd said.
