THE PARS NEWS UPDATE - October 26, 2025

=== MAIN STORY ===

DUNFERMLINE LOSE 3-2 TO ROSS COUNTY - LENNON FURIOUS WITH REFEREE

Dunfermline Athletic suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Ross County yesterday, but the main talking point was manager Neil Lennon`s explosive post-match criticism of referee Duncan Nicolson.

The Pars got off to a nightmare start, conceding twice in the opening three minutes through Scott Fraser (2`) and Jordan White (3`). However, they showed great character to fight back, with Andrew Tod scoring just before half-time and Barney Stewart equalizing early in the second half.

Ross County regained the lead through Ronan Hale in the 67th minute, securing all three points in what Lennon described as a "really good game of football, ruined by a guy who`s just totally out of his depth."

=== LENNON`S EXPLOSIVE COMMENTS ===

The former Celtic manager was apoplectic with referee Duncan Nicolson`s performance, making several serious allegations:

• Claims Nurudeen Abdulai was fouled for the first goal: "Jordan White`s got a grip of him as he`s clearing it"
• Disputes the free-kick that led to the winning goal: "Jerry clearly wins the ball"
• Alleges Matty Todd was "elbowed in the face" by Declan Gallagher without punishment
• Reports "disparaging comments" made by an assistant referee to his staff

Lennon told reporters: "I`m apoplectic with this guy. Honestly, I`ve had enough. This guy cost me a goal against Partick Thistle when Chris Kane is a yard out and the guy pulled his shirt."

The Scotsman reports that Lennon has demanded referee Nicolson be banned from officiating future Dunfermline matches, calling the performance an "abomination."
