There`s a video on P&B that shows our second goal from a fresh angle, and it looks pretty likely that Barney Stewart scored it.

I thought he had at the time. I said it before that facing away from goal the boy knows where the goals are. It is a major strength in his game and something I haven’t seen at East End for some time from any player in our teams to my memory.

Yes, that was my feeling too, watching live on Pars TV. If you check the match thread, you`ll see that was my initial remark. Is there a process where Barney can lay claim to the goal after review by, say, the SPFL? Who knows, perhaps at the end of the season it might influence the league`s top goalscorer. Okay, maybe I am being a little optimistic!

He tried to placate raging F@lkirk fans on X by saying he was merely touching his chest.
Aye right!
I think he’ll be signed up soon.

Said the very same thing to my mate when I seen the video I can’t imagine that’s gone down very well in Grangemouth question is now though is it worthwhile making cheeky wee bid for him in January?

I 100% think we should be asking Falkirk what they want for him. I dont imagine he`ll be welcomed back with open arms.

I think it`s an automatic reaction for players to kiss or pad the badge ( even though, like most of us, we go to the highest bidder!)
I would imagine it`s a really big deal for him though, to score twice at this level would mean a hell of a lot to someone at that age who`s put his studies on hold to try for full time football.

I wouldn`t read anything into him patting his chest.... the way I saw it, that was his way of saying "that`s my goal"

Exactly, and you`ve at least got to be chuffed for a guy to score, when last season he was playing for a University team.
He`s living the dream.

I don’t know like. You’d put a fit Rudden in front of him but while we’re playing 2 up top I think he’ll see a lot of game time. Kane seems to be restricted to 30mins max and Barney plays well with A Tod
