October proved to be an excellent month for the Pars, with us gaining 10 points from five games. The defeat away to Ross County and the draw at home to Queens Park are the only blemishes in an otherwise fine set of results.
Interestingly, the Pars are currently the form team based on last month`s results. Thistle and Ayr United gained 8 points from five and six games respectively, while Ross County and Arbroath gained 7 points from four.
Our next opponents, top-of-the-league St Johnstone, had a very ordinary month, gaining only 5 points from four games. Could they be ready for a doing at EEP?
Morton and Airdrieonians continue to struggle, with 4 points from four games each, while Queens Park and, surprisingly, the Wee Team each obtained just 3 points from four games last month.
Considering our injury list, this is a significant achievement by the young Pars squad. Although it`s a young team, we have a strength in depth that I don`t think we have ever seen at East End. And you can see from the way they defend from the front line to the back, these guys play with conviction. They have been drilled into it by great coaching.
We should celebrate this turnaround in our fortunes. Not so long ago, Tidser`s tactics brought me to the verge of giving up my support for the Pars. Glad I didn`t. I am very thankful for the contributions of the club`s new owners and the management team, both on and off the park.
