We’re putting together the playlist for this week’s Saturday Social, and it got us chatting about the tunes that really sum up the Pars.
When we were coming up with the name for the event, Paint It Black came up obviously a massive tune on its own, but one we all link with hearing at East End Park.
So what about you lot what songs do you associate with the Pars or Dunfermline? Could be a classic, something from a local band, or even a song tied to a chant.
What’s got to be on the ultimate Pars playlist?

The Bluebell Polka obviously
In the 90s i always remember ‘The Only Way is Up’ by Yazz being played before every game for years!

The Key, the secret by Urban Cookie Collective is a bit niche but one of my earliest memories of my dad watching the football results on STV (may have been BBC) as they used it as the filler music. Very random early memory. Sure it was a Grundig TV.

The two I always associate with Pars matches are Atomic (Blondie) and Ready to Go (Republica) - they were staples on the pre match playlist for ages; not sure if the still are.
Into the Valley as well, of course.

With Westy bringing the 80/90`s theme, I`d add the Pet Shop Boys. I`ve got core memories of them getting blasted through EEP`s crackly old speakers during the Bertie Paton period.
- Always on my mind
- Go West
Other Suggestions
- Duck Sauce (BMMMH version on youtube of course)
- Skids and big country are a given.
Looking forward to something a wee bit different before the game, good luck lads!

Agree 100% with this as my association with the Pars. Personally can’t stand the Bluebell Polka although I realise I may be in a minority with that one.

Paint it black - The Rolling Stones.
Did we we have `Alan Parsons Project - Sirius` at one stage too? I love that as intro music, just not sure if it was us!

Agree with Bandy, i always remember Ready to Go by Republica when i went as a kid in the late 90s/early 00s, that tune always reminds me of football.
Also anything by Big Country, of course.

Apart from the Scottish Cup run, the only decent thing about Stephen Kenny`s tenure was `Teenage Kicks` by the Undertones.

Great shouts here folks! Mad how just the mention of a song can take you straight back to a time, a feeling, or a memory.
Seven Nation Army always brings back that halftime optimism from the ‘04 cup final.
Completely forgot about Duck Sauce and BMMMH!
Ahoy Ahoy!

Bluebell Polka for me.
Was played at the end of my grandads funeral so brings a little memory each time I leave the ground.
Used to go into my grandparents after every game before they passed, he`d be sitting in his chair listening to BBC Scotland on the `wireless` and I`d slide the living room door open to him usually saying `tough result for you today son`
C'mon Ye Pars!

Asleep At The Wheel got a Grammy for “A String Of Pars” - unfortunately it’s an instrumental.
