Seems that Raith Rovers are closing in on Dougie Imrie as their next manager after Morton gave them permission to speak to him.

Billy Davies is `Technical Head Coach` at Morton so maybe he`d take over from Imrie

According to the Courier Rhys McCabe has also been interviewed for the job. Wasn`t Dougie Imrie interviewed for the PT job at the start of the season?

He will cost Raith money to get him, thought MacAnespie ex player was the target?

Last I heard Kieran McAnespie was a cameraman on soft core late night TV Channel Babestation. You would need to be a mug to give up a dream career like that to become involved with Raith Rovers

Good story, however it’s Steven MacAnespie that’s the ex wee teamer.

That was at least 15 years ago.

A Morton fan wrote on Reddit in response to their manager being whisked away to Raith
“Away and Ray McKinnon yersel!”

Think it`s a sensible appointment for them. Lord knows Dougie Imrie probably needs a fresh start after the recent tragedy he and his family lived through.

What I will say is, from a purely football POV, it`s an indication of where Rovers` short term ambition is. He`s unlikely to be the guy who inspires them into a promotion drive. It`s a safe mid-table appointment. In fairness he`s overseen a few squad overhauls at Morton so he`ll be well positioned to do the same for the Rovers this season because my mate (a big Rovers fan) tells me they only currently have 5 first team players signed beyond the summer. Plus the team is really getting on in age.

It`s about to be confirmed. He`s having his photo taken signing right now.

Looks likely now. Daily Record’s Scott Burns saying he’s said Yes. Linking up with Andy Millen, former assistant at Greenock Morton.

‘Ton pal says he’d be happy with Ian Murray, the former Rovers manager.

He will have his work cut out this season.its an ageing team . I think as someone has said, they will be a mid table team and will need to rebuild for next season. They are two years behind us in that respect.
