West Ham legend Billy Bons has died age 79.
An incredible player who played in the top league at 41 and for West Ham for 21 years and 799 games, won the FA Cup twice with the hammers.
RIP.

I watched him play on many occasions back in the day before moving to Scotland. Brilliant team of locals Harry Redknapp, Frank Lampard Senior, Bobby Moore etc
Upton Park was a great ground for watching football . Billy Bonds was a blood and guts sort of player. One of the best.

"Upton Park was a great ground for watching football."
In my teens, during the Middle Ages, I got on the London tube line to go see The Hammers and got off at Upton Park - the only passenger to do so !!!
The appropriate one for the Boleyn Ground was two stops further up !!!
DOH !!!
