In other words: only 16 teams drop out: bottom from each group plus four worst third place.
A decent chance of qualifying.

I was just about to pose this question on the main thread. Surely our best chance ever to go past the group stage. Potentially a win against Hiati and avoiding drubbings in the other 2 could get us through on goal difference at worst. If we can beat Hiati and scrape a draw then that`s pretty much a definite.
I still remember Euro 96 (I think) when we were in the same group as England and Holland. England were beating Holland 4 nil in the last match which would have been good enough for us to qualify, but Holland scored a late goal to put us out. A suspiciously easy goal f I remember correctly.

We also have the added bonus of the Brazil game being last.
Hopefully they`ve won the group by then & don`t really care!!
Haiti worries me - real unknown and these are the games we traditionally mess up!
Hoping to get over for the Morocco game so fingers crossed for a result in that one 😎👏🏼

Just read that a scraped draw is not possible, as all group matches must be won via extra time then penalties. I think i read that right. Imagine having all 3 of your group matches go to penalties in that heat. Ouch. Sun tan lotion factor dufflecoat.

Not true. Draws are draws in the group stage
