Think the issue was people who enjoy standing at the back barrier to watch the match.
It’s never been an issue before today.
I take an autistic child I care for, for the second half there often and he loves it.
He bounces about like mad when we score but doesn’t overstep the boundaries between stewards and fans.

I get in for the doors opening and always have a friendly hello to all the stewards I meet. I know the guy you are talking about and he was ignorant to me yesterday when I said hello to him. Some people are just built that way sadly. All the other stewards are friendly that I know. To be honest, it is the first time I have actually seen him in the stand. I will not waste my breath being pleasant to him in future.

I’ve stood at my seat with my son and watched this unfolding all season, and decided to move during the Second Half yesterday. It’s clear that Stewards are now deliberately antagonising people in the section to get a reaction and the club really needs to intervene and nip it in the bud before something seriously happens, to the youngsters, adults, stewards or a member of club staff.
Christ, I even got challenged for bringing in my cup of coffee yesterday. I’ve been bringing in Costa coffee to every home game, for as long as I can remember (as the coffee in the kiosk is rank rotten)……years and years….with no issue, but it somehow was yesterday. Again, stewards trying to get a reaction out of people.

Why not raise your complaint with Drew Main, our SLO, Cal? He`ll take it up with G4S if he feels you have a legitimate grievance.
Not your average Sunday League player.

I don`t know the particular circumstances so this may not be appropriate, but for many years it has probably been against the law in Scotland to attempt to bring your cup of Costa coffee into the ground, punishable by up to 60 days imprisonment or a fine of £1000. So you`re maybe lucky your sentence was just to watch the Pars yesterday... :)
The Criminal Law (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 1995, which reflects previous legislation, states:
"controlled container” means any bottle, can or other portable container, whether open or sealed, which is, or was, in its original manufactured state, capable of containing liquid and is made from such material or is of such construction, or is so adapted, that if it were thrown at or propelled against a person it would be capable of causing some injury to that person; but the term does not include a container holding a medicinal product for a medicinal purpose.

Surely ANY container of hot liquid could be thrown...including the cups used in the stadium 😂

Indeed, and the law can be interpreted as applying to cold drinks too - many years ago my 7-year old son was prevented from taking his carton of Ribena into Brockville!

It was that typical situation where you had stewards twiddling their thumbs looking for something to do.
Their boss was a real jobsworth looking for trouble when there was none to seek and that clearly rubbed off on them.

tbf the steward in question was a total James hunt when he worked for g4s it’s really no surprise at all that he’s an even bigger James hunt now that he’s a supervisor

Can`t believe someone is arguing that they should be allowed to bring their own coffee in with them. How many years has it been that you can`t do that - 30? 40?

I’ve been doing it (without the whiskey), every Saturday game, for as long as the machine has been in the garage along the road. It’s never been questioned until yesterday.

you’ve been doing it for years good for you all that means is you’ve had stewards turning a blind eye to it and letting you away with it despite it being against the law to enter or try to enter a football ground while in possession of a container capable of holding liquid which if thrown could cause serious injury mibby they just have stewards on the gates that will actually stick to the rules

Aye very good laugh all you want pretty sure if you check the ground regulations next time you are at east end it will say much about the same regardless of the fact you can buy cups of juice or hot drinks inside the ground fact still remains that it’s an offence to take a container capable of holding liquid into the ground and has been for years
