500k would be mental. Totally unproven in the top league, where even a regular striker for a mid table team would struggle to attract that value.

Been a good player for us, has the stature we needed up there and is chipping in with plenty goals, knack of scoring important goals too.
We did try to bring in an Italian striker in the summer but the window closed and it wasn’t done. I wonder if Barney would prove too expensive to keep and we’ll look to the continent to bring in someone identified by the analytics.
The squad needs a couple of good players to lift it again for the 2nd half of the season, hopefully they are already on this and these players arrive early Jan.

Don`t tribunals only come into play if a young player is at the end of his contract and the `selling` club is due a development fee because of his age?

Doubt it any player or club would want to go to a tribunal.
So rare, I`m trying to remember the last one, was it not as long ago as pre The Rangers liquidation?
I can`t think of any reason for a young up and coming player to want to involve himself in that!

To answer my own question, based on my own (sketchy) research, Barney has scored 7 goals in 10 appearances. During these 10 appearances he played for 563 minutes so he has averaged a goal every 80.5 minutes which is a pretty impressive strike rate.
