The former Spurs and England striker has died at the age of 80. I have a vague memory of seeing him play against us at EEP, possibly in the Texaco Cup.
ETA - According the Pars database we lost 3-0 at home to Spurs in the Texaco Cup in September 1970. We had already lost 4-0 at White Hart Lane.

Yeah, I well remember that Spurs game at EEP. We were outclassed and soundly beaten. It dawned on me that night that our “glory years” had well and truly come to an end.

That home game against Spurs was the home debut for John Cushley.
We signed John from West Ham.....ex Celtic...
I can remember Pars were faffing about looking for a decent centre half
Cushley played, I can remember he nearly cut Martin Peters in half with a tackle....
