Anyone got any realistic transfer targets in mind?
I’d like to see us sign Josh Fowler from Queens Park. He’s scored 17 goals in 22 appearances playing in a struggling side in our league. He’s out of contract at the end of the season and Queens Park have financial troubles so surely the transfer fee wouldn’t be prohibitively expensive.
I’d also like to see an improvement at goalkeeper and a centre back in but I don’t have names to bring for these positions.
Thoughts anyone?

I demand that all signings have at least four names to keep Buffy`s fingers going when she`s doing the updates.
Maybe sign Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Oluwatomi Oluwalana Ayomikulehin Adebayo from Luton?

My son asked me this question a few weeks ago and Fowler was the name I mentioned along with Kofi Balmer, who looks to be leaving Motherwell.
Realistic or of interest to Lennon…I don’t know, but I would have thought they would be.

That’s a great shout Buster. Kofi Balmer would be a very interesting signing and you feel he’d do really well in the championship. If he can be got then we should. Bringing him and fowler in, I’d be really confident of making the playoffs.

It looked certain he would be going to St Johnstone but all seems to have gone quiet on that front.

I`d be looking along the lines of Coll Donaldson to shore up and provide experience to our young defense.
Will he save it? Save it??? He never bloody saw it! Like a bullet!

Queens Park just signed Ricki Lamie and Callum Smith which suggests there is no rush to sell Fowler to raise cash, also Lennon suggested yesterday that they are happy with the forward options for now.
Balmer is about to sign for Bristol Rovers.
Donaldson is rarely fit which we dont need.
centre half is a must so Ryan Edwards who has left Falkirk after his contract ended and Aaron Donnelly at Dundee would be two possible centre half options depending on what type they want and if they are looking closer to home.

Glad to see there hasn`t been the usual meltdown due to perceived lack of activity. Maybe we trust them a bit more now.

Aye, I feel we are in a good place at the moment.
We still have players in reserve, what I will say is communication is good, so areas like central defence etc we all know we need more.
I think the fans also think we are in a different market now, were less keen on whoever `experienced` is available - we all know we`ve had our fingers burnt several times with journeyman players looking for another contract.

Clubs cast their nets so widely now when recruiting that it`s difficult for fans to identify players who might be of interest.
Harking back to the recent discussion of the relative quality of the Scottish and English Leagues, I see Emile Acquah, who was denied an equalising goal on Sunday by Craig Gordon`s wonder save, has left Dundee on loan for the rest of the season to Harrogate Town who are second bottom of English League 2.

Maybe Liam Smith from QOTS, would fit the bill, creative player who can play on both wings and through the middle?

I saw Acquah play a few times for Barrow (my "English team") and I reckoned he could do a good job for a Scottish Championship side. He doesn`t seem to have made the grade at Dundee, although he would have been a hero but for Craig Gordon!
Ironically, he will now be trying to help Harrogate overhaul Barrow near the foot of League Two. He`ll get a fiery reception next month when the two teams meet at Barrow!

Thanks for that perspective, Stanza. Scottish Premiership clubs have recruited consistently from English Leagues 1 and 2 and even the National League. I remember when Miles Welch-Hayes joined us on loan from Livi, thinking how good a player he was and hoping we would sign him permanently. I see after Livi released him he returned down south and is now playing for Maidenhead, a mid-table side in National League South!

Maidenhead pull in average crowds of 1,356, not big crowds. Apparently the average wage in that division is about £750 a week. Not bad on those crowds
