These commentators really do need to get a grip of themselves. It is all rather unbecoming!

🤣😂🤣 Brilliant, Ipswich. I was very sceptical of the new CL set up when it was first mooted, reasoning that it was just a ruse to let big clubs who hadn`t managed to qualify by the normal route, get in via the back door. It`s undeniably been an outstanding success.

As for the Portuguese commentator, I think he`s managed to eclipse his Norwegian colleague who gave us the famous "Winston Churchill, Sir Anthony Eden.......... Maggie Thatcher, your boys took one helluva beating", when Norway beat England for the first time in their history.

My Portuguese is practically non existent, but he does start with "Our Father" but if it was meant to be a prayer, he got no further. He also said history had been made and repeated everything at least twice.

Not your average Sunday League player.

The ending of the Benfica game was sensational. Up there with Denmark

I agree GG. I had properly fallen out of love with the European games but the new format keeps things going right up until the final kick (or head) of the ball.

I`m sure the Benfica fans feel absolutely amazing Big T. I can happily shove the end of the Denmark game on a loop and still have a massive smile of my face even now. I can still remember my feels when King Kenny scored against Spain in 84 when I was a nipper. Hopefully the Denmark feelings will remain for the rest of my days.
