Really strong bench for Patrick with Fitzpatrick, Turner and Chalmers waiting in the wings.
Fowler obviously on the bench for STJ too.

Thistle are an agricultural team winning on a ploughed field.
As effective as Thistle’s play is, St Johnstone’s confidence looks shot.

I think Saints had the same problem as us last year, put undersoil heating on to get a game on , and it knackers your pitch for the rest of the season .

I think we are as good as either of those sides. StJ look a bit slow at the back. The wheels have come off their title bid a bit. Poor goal to lose last minute.

Liked the way he marshalled the St Johnstone keeper back onto his line for the penalty. A good advert for ex-pro referees.

Some poetic justice with Diabate getting caught out at the penalty as he was the one who made the `last man` challenge on Morrison last week.
Thr crowd was given as 5,949 which was decent for a televised Friday night game if it`s right.

Enjoyable match. Thistle the strongest first half but have to admire Saints the way they stepped up after the break and looked dominant until giving a stupid penalty away.

Genuinely think we can catch both thistle and Arbroath no chance of catching saints unless the wheels come off of them completely but anything can happen in football

Hmmmmm.
I can`t see Partick dropping enough for us to catch them unless we beat them twice.
I think we still have 2 against them.
Yep it is do-able but head to heads will be the decider.
Actually, if you like a bit optimism - if we win our games in hand, and beat Saints at home, we will only be 8 behind with 12 (36 pts) to play for.
If they get the jitters who knows?
Now am I just fishing, or do I believe in mackerals?

A decent watch last night. I thought Watt was quality. That pitch could be there undoing. It’s going to make games there route one style football. Levels the playing field, as they won’t be able to impose their style of play on teams. They will definitely drop points at home becease of that. I think?
St Johnstone aren’t as good as they think!

I think we have proved StJ are beatable. Even on their own ground. All of the promotion spots are still up for grabs, so we have to keep aiming high and take each game at at time. As long as we have self belief, there is still an opportunity to win or finish in second place.

Yep. Even with the inconsistencies in performances we`ve seen from this young team we are in a reasonably good position. If we can be a bit less up and down I think we can make the play offs.

St Johnstone must be hugely disappointed to have dropped 5 points in their last two home games. I see their next two League games are away at Airdrie (13/02) and the Rovers (20/02), both Friday nights so presumably both on TV?
