Stranraer have been disqualified for fielding an ineligible player. They reckon it`s cost them around £200k as QP go through to meet Rangers in the next round.

You would think in this era of near instant electronic communications a team sheet list of players could be compared against a central database of registered and eligible players .

Except they ain’t though Queen’s Park suffered the same fate not so long ago and if its cost stranraer that amount of money then it’s their own fault for just assuming the guy would be subject to different rules due to it being an emergency loan like with everything else in life if the rules don’t say you can then you can’t

Unless I`m much mistaken it`s the duty of the club secretary to ensure that all players are registered and eligible.
In practice the manager should be aware as well.
That doesn`t let the guilty player avoid a degree of responsibility though.
