Does the thread title apply to those yesterday who were suggesting we could catch Arbroath and even Partick ?

Typical short-sighted forum behaviour, sing when you’re winning and whine when you’re not 🤷‍♂️

Not the way I see it Parster !
It`s a missed opportunity if we had won today your sitting on 32 points
Arbroath got beat and are on 37 points
be a little presumptious and win your 2 games in hand and your on 38 points and into 3rd position
But if you play how we did and go down to ten men I wouldn`t have fancied my chances even against Kelty in the cup

We`re consistently inconsistent! We had three fab wins, and then the game we`re expected to win...

Bring on the games we`re no expected tae win!

Clean the sh** off the fan and go again.

If it`s an overreaction to say how angry I am about today`s performance, then I`m totally guilty. I don`t expect the Pars to win every game, but (this season, anyway) I expect to see some level of competence.

Think the players thought the win was in the bag. 2nd to every ball and couldn’t pass water, a last season type performance espechailly from those who were here last season.

I don`t think there is an over reaction, it was bad and Lennon says what a lot of fans are thinking. Lets hope he can sort the mentality problem

If you want to make tge playoffs you have to be on it every game. Tgats the proffessionalism needed. Tgere are such fine lines in this league that if you drop your stansarss you will be punished.. like we were today

Can’t really call it an overreaction when the manager himself is questioning the mentality of the group.
Yes, we’ve had two good wins, but you’re only as good as your last game, and today we were miles off it. If we turn up like that against Kelty, we’ll be in serious trouble.
That said, I can see Lenny ringing the changes and hopefully giving a few of these players a much needed reality check.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

I dont think they thought the win was in the bag mate, not the type of attitude these boys have, even if it was against swifts, they wouldnt have that attitude so i dont wanna hear that patter

Gifting Airdrie an early goal and having a man sent off early in the second half were the main contributors to the defeat rather than the players` attitude I would say. I`m not sure NL got the team selection right either but maybe that`s just the benefit of hindsight.

Airdrie turned up right from kick off and we struggled to cope with that and the pace they had.
Players were woefully mentally unprepared for this game and we got what we deserved.
Nothing.

It`s difficult to measure mental attitude. Surprisingly perhaps, the BBC stats show us having 62% possession and more shots (12 to 8) and more on target (6 to 4). Both teams had 6 corners. Conceding a daft early goal and going a man down after 55 minutes must sap confidence though.

Interesting piece on social media today by respected European football observer Guillem Balague which includes the following: “In stadiums now, we increasingly see impatience that would have been unthinkable years ago. Fans protesting a team even before half-time. Whistling after one mistake, even teams that are top of the table. Demanding changes immediately, as if football were a video game and not a complex sport shaped by confidence, form (both appearing in waves during a campaign), injuries, personalities, the limits of a squad or the finances.
We forget that coaches work every day with these players. That they know the realities behind the scenes. That progress is not always instant. But patience has become rare, because the modern world trains us to expect immediate solutions.”

Good piece by Balague there. I`ve got to admit, although I quite like a snoop on here to see what people are saying the majority of the posts are just total drivel by people that know nothing about life, far less football. When I go to the matches I do find myself wishing I wasn`t there when I see some man-baby losing his mind over a misplaced pass or someone constantly berating some player on his own team who they obviously don`t like.

I kind of yearn for the days back in the 90s, when there was hardly any live football in TV, my football news was from The Dunfermline Press on a Friday and a programme or fanzine on a Saturday, then I`d go to the match, stand in the cage, along with a bunch of people that were generally supportive win, lose or draw. If we played rotten there would be no histrionics, no .net meltdowns for the next week. I`d just go to the East Port, have a bit banter with Norrie about the game, then I`d go on a pub crawl up town and not really think about the football till the next weekend. Much healthier
