 Boo Boys

Embarrassing to hear the boos at half time yesterday, yes the first half was a difficult watch and it was clear the starting eleven needed to be reset/changed but to boo the team off at HT honks.
I’m sure the majority of attendees yesterday were just as unhappy at that point as myself but just reigned in the negative noise and instead showed a bit self control.
We are not the old firm so we should not feel self entitled. we have just recently appointed a new manager after at least 5 seasons bar 1 of stinking football who is rebuilding the playing staff, this is not a happy clapper post but just my point of view that players and staff were probably aware that things we not going well and didn’t need a lung full of Booooo to re-enforce the point.
We are in the Quarters for the first time for a long time so let’s just enjoy the moment and accept that we are who are and just show some respect and cut out the booing shhite

It’s the most snow flakey thing ever to tell people not to boo.

It’s a live event. A boo of disapproval is as valid an expression of an emotion as cheer when a goal goes in.

I don’t boo the team but I also respect the fact a paying spectator an express disapproval in a vey pantomime-esque manner.

If any player has had or intends on having any longevity in the game. It’s worth telling them that a boo will be at the very polite end of what chants they will hear.

The Kelty goalie was met with a much nastier chorus hinting at his sexual preferences yesterday and that isn’t being discussed but the old panto boo…. How dare you!!!

I didn`t hear any references to the kelty goalie`s sexuality ..... and I didn`t realise I was attending a pantomime.

Selective hearing Eric. There was a loud chorus of the north west chanting it at him at the start of the first half. Maybe you were one of the hundreds that missed 10 minutes of the game waiting to get in. But don’t mention the poorly run turnstiles either, right?

I had no trouble getting in, I thought the NW was empty and my name`s not Eric.

I was sat in the ground from 1:50 (Thanks for reduced capacity Legends) and heard not a peep of homophobic chanting.

Did you speak up when you heard this, or did you run to post it to a forum?

There were big queues at the Norrie because they closed the NW and crammed the young team into the same stand. Don`t know why because the crowd was similar in size to a standard league game. It was the young team that were calling the Kelty goalkeeper a paedo.

Said my piece about the booing in the other thread, but I`ll add that it`s exactly what Kelty would`ve been hoping for from the home fans yesterday.

The "if the players can`t hack being booed then bugger off" line of thinking works both ways, if the fans can`t hack us being 0-0 with Kelty for 45 mins then maybe they could bugger off and watch Celtic instead.

Some of these boys are 19-21 years old and put their whole career on the line out there in front of people every week, it`s not a panto.

Crosspar answered the questions. Did I challenge this? I did, I told my young son that it was out of order as I stood and clapped the team onto the park. I didn’t feel the need to bring it to the forum until it was flooded with melting snow flakes, reduced to puddles by booing!! I’m glad they didn’t hear those chants though, could you imagine???

Boo’s have been part of football longer than anyone in this forum. If you have more issue with booing than a guy getting called a paedo, away and take yer head for a dump!

I think Lennon questioned the booing, didn’t have a melt down. Maybe he will reflect on the combined 135 minutes of the Airdrie game and first half of yesterday and understand. I think Lennon would also agree that booing is part of the game. Rather than the booers not showing up, how about the folk who can’t accept it’s part of the game ( a minority ) just don’t bother.

Some folk seem to see the relationship between players and fans as `them and us`. I`ve never understood that, assuming we all want the same outcome.

So your response to alleged homophobia is to turn away and tell your `son` that`s bad. How cowardly. What an example to follow

You are away with it 😂😂 You’re the only one who has mentioned anything to homophobia.

For future reference though, how does a guy go about challenging 200 hundred 14 year olds singing homophobic chants in front stewards and police?

If not homophobic, I can only assume you mean he was called a peado. Again, you are the only one who has said this happened, out of 5k in the stadium.

You`re a pihs little troll honestly

No, I think you will find someone else on this thread mentioned it.
But back to the question big felly. This will help many others in this forum who attend games.

How should anyone challenge 200 14 year olds chanting homophobic chants in front of stewards and police?

no Andrew, BigT isn`t a snowflake, we can see this clearly because he felt the need to tell us all that he was laughing and even posted a cry-laughing emoji, a sure sign that he is definitely not rattled or having a meltdown.

He also points out that while Lennon may have also criticised the booing, he trusts Neil will "reflect" on the past two games, presumably before arriving at the same conclusion as the famously clear-headed BigTPar1986 of the .net forum

BigT also makes a good case against imaginary "boomers" here, despite his statement that "booing is fine because it has always been a part of football" being the most boomer-logic argument I can imagine.

If you want the team to win, surely you`d do the thing that makes that most likely to happen?

Players perform better with encouragement than with booing.

A player knows when he or she is having a bad game. They`ve spent all week in training aiming to play well on a Saturday and they`re way more frustrated than the fans when that isn`t happening.

Obviously, people have a right to boo, but it has the opposite effect than what they want to happen.

To say someone should be allowed to boo and no one should be called a paedo and end up the bad guy? 😂 come on, just admit this is a happy clap clique and I’ll stop replying.

Even though I’m gutted I’ve not been given anyone’s input on how to deal with 200 fans chanting inappropriate stuff in front of stewards and police 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ive been following football for a very long time now and i think if a teams been well below standard , booing is merited at the end of the game
Ive lost count though the amount of times ive read opposition managers and players highlighting opposing fans turning on there teams has helped them , so boo by all means if you feel the need , but at the end of the game , not during , your only helping one team ....and its not your own

It’s not about being a snowflake sonny, it’s called maturity and just being a bit respectful and supportive at a time when the team may need it
Full time well that’s a different discussion…,
howeverclearly your thoughts are it’s perfectly ok to shout negatives at whoever is on the park to help them along or even to remind them that what they are doing is not good enough
