Hard to avoid the Man Utd story about the guy who won`t cut his hair until his team win 5 in a row. He almost had the clippers out last night!

When was the last time any team in the Scottish Championship managed that, never mind us?

The last time we won 5 in a row was In the 2015-16 season in League One, Dunfermline shared the longest league winning run (5 matches) with Peterhead during that campaign on the way to winning the league. This was the only recent one I found.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

He might be happy they didn`t win given it is what he`s famous for!

Re: the five in a row, Partick did it this season. They started the season with a hammering from St Johnstone, a drab draw at home against Morton but then won 5 in a row.

Not the toughest run of fixtures:-

Ross County (A)
Raith Rovers (H)
Airdrieonians (H)
Dunfermline Athletic (A)
Queen’s Park (A)

Pretty sure the Pars won 6 in a row from the start of Leishman`s first full season as manager.

Sadly, there was no happy ending as the Pars were pipped to promotion by Alloa on the last day.

I think I remember that one.

Pre-internet/mobile phone. We were at home and a rumour started going round the ground. Pitch got invaded at the end and Leish had to stand on the dugout roof and tell everyone we hadn`t actually got promoted after all.

That`s my recollection anyway. I think i was maybe 12 at the time!

Such drama!

Yeah, the rumour was that Alloa had lost at Arbroath, meaning we were runners up to Berwick Rangers. I wonder why anyone would get any pleasure out of starting a false rumour like that. Maybe a Falkirk fan... 🤔

Not denying this at all, I don`t remember this particular game so please don`t think I`m questioning you, but it seems strange that nobody had a radio with them. I distinctly remember games from that era where other results mattered, so there were always a load of folk tuned in to the results programme on their wee radios, relaying the important scores to everyone nearby.
On a similar note, before phones, everyone paid attention to the half time scores on the tannoy, and it wasn`t uncommon to hang around after our game finished to hear the full time results being announced from elsewhere. Good times indeed

Did we not do five in a row the season Crawford took over?

Callum Davidson was helping and, according to some, was entirely responsible for that and keeping us up, but losing the remaining eight or so was all down to Craw.

We did, winning 4 of them 1-0. Quite a feat from Crawford given the `bin fire` he inherited. We tried to splash the cash (relative to the time) that season and ended up with a squad that, at best, looked disharmonious. The supports meeting after that season was quite illuminating, with McArthur and Crawford alluding to massive dressing room issues that needed resolving.
