As someone who takes their child along to the games and choosing the Norrie as it’s the family stand, the behaviour of some individuals is disgusting. Tonight hearing racial slurs getting shouted more than once and these individuals not getting removed is bad in my opinion. I guess as they are season ticket holders and paly with stewards it’s ignored as they are only kids/teens 🙄 pain in the buts every game. Perfect example of some of the youth of today.

Report it to the club. If you know, for example, that you`re in Row D, Seat 45, and they are five rows behind and a few seats along, the club should be able to identify them. And hopefully give them a lifetime ban and report it to the authorities. No excuses for this at any club but definitely not at ours.
Unfortunately, there are a few grown adults (in the loosest sense of the term) who attend every home game and shout absolute nonsense throughout. I have to listen to the third Proclaimer and his pals yelling rubbish for the entire match. He has been told numerous times to be quiet, but I think he struggles to follow basic instructions.

I can`t hear what they say from where I sit, but they have been wee fuds for the last couple of seasons. Hanging over the barrier, giving the finger and w@nker sign to anyone from the opposite team walking past. Bloody embarrassing. They look like they`re only just out of nappies and they act like it too.

Waffle is fine but not racism. At risk of attracting the "you can`t say anything nowadays" brigade, it`s 2026 and using racist, homophobic or bigoted language isn`t on. If you have to stoop that low then your intelligence must be limited. We all say things we regret in the heat of the moment but everyone knows such language is unacceptable and should be able to keep their outbursts to some blue language at worst.

I am astonished that racism still exists at our club in 2026. We must have one of the most multicultural squads in the league, and who can deny the contribution of these players?
I wonder if those who are throwing the insults are conscious that our coloured players will be hearing the abusive remarks too. How do you think that would make them feel?
This sort of behaviour needs to be rubbed out.

I have been thinking about this situation since last Saturday v Arbroath.
My 9 year old granddaughter has become very interested in football but I am dreading the day when she asks me to take her to a Pars match, the club I have
supported home and away for over 60 years.
The result on Saturday was disappointing and made worse for me by the continual bad language from several other Pars fans surrounding me in the away stand.
Not " industrial language" but the worst possible swear words- continual use of the C word.
Average age of these fans = 65- 80 !
If I could have found another seat I would have moved

We have been going to games coming on a year used to sit in the main stand then moved to the Norrie. I expected the swearing etc that is what it is to me some people get so wound up. But I don’t want to be hearing “nig nog” getting shouted for younger kids to hear. Along with how wrong it is, I’ve heard the peado shouting on many occasions . It makes me cringe

A number of years ago now, I battled with this for my son. When he was 6 years old, he came up to me and said “I go to the football with Daddy today” and I said that if he wanted to go he could, but the had the instant fear of the language around where I sit.
His first game and we got absolutely horsed, and the language was what you would expect, pretty strong, and afterwards I sat in the car and explained that he would have heard some language today that wasn’t nice and it was words that people shouldn’t be using unless it was adults talking to other adults and I said to him that if he heard words that he didn’t hear me using then he knows that he shouldn’t be using them. It was a conversation that I had to have periodically when where we were was pretty bad.
I’m not saying I’m the perfect Dad or he was the perfect Son in that regard, and I’ll never tell anyone how to parent but it worked for me and actually, he’s 15 now, but it taught him that there’s a time and place for cursing and swearing but actually, at the football where there are family and kids around, is not the ideal place regardless of what others are doing around him.
Hope this helps

I think theres definitely been a large increase in racial abuse, fuelled by many factors, all bad actors.
It`s disturbing times. GG I wouldn`t be so confident, in Scotland there are just as many keyboard warriors as anywhere else, I wouldn`t be getting in any `whas like us` competition here ( turns out we Scots are exactly like everyone else, not exceptional after all)

There`s a difference between swearing and racism though. I took my son along when he was 9/10. He remarked to me that the man behind kept saying bad words (he was calling Chalmers a useless W-word over and over). I told him some people can`t control their language very well. He wasn`t bothered after that. I suspect he just thought the guy had something wrong with him.

Agree about the racism part but taking kids to East End Park was always about educating them about language they were going to hear.

It was one young lad trying to get his shoe back, steward refused. Rest of section started to gather in the corner (maybe 30 or so), steward eventually used his head and passed the shoe back. All back to their seats after that. Could easily have been avoided.

The “peado” shouts are, unfortunately, a consistent feature at EEP. If it’s not a steward, it’s whatever ex-player is playing against us. I’ve never looked at it as anything close to patter. More often than not, it’s in a derby game, and the player often gets the last laugh, much to the displeasure of those in the North West.
Surely people can come up with better patter than calling someone a “peado,” shouting about “taking it up the erse,” or, in this instance, racism. It’s not acceptable, and it’s certainly not funny.

Were some moronic Chelsea "fans" not also guilty of abusing their club`s first black player, Paul Canoville, in the 80s? And then you had those England "fans", who travelled with players and officials to South America. John Barnes scored a wonderful solo goal (a la Maradona) v Brazil in the Maracana and one of them said to a reporter, "We only won 1-0, cos we don`t count any goals scored by blacks."

For the most part, I`d love to say those days are well and truly behind. Sadly, it seems to be swinging back around again though.
Language that I thought had died out when I left school is now becoming more and more frequent.
Only a few months ago a bunch of "lads" felt it perfectly acceptable to pose on the steps of a town building, in broad daylight, holding a n@zi/far right flag in this country.
Racism definitely seems to be creeping back into football culture, sadly

I agree BouncyPar. I thought we had seen the back of all the hatred of yesteryear, but it looks like the establishment are using the media to give a platform to the likes of Nigel Farage and Tommeh Robinson in an effort to stoke up racism. Then you have Trump and Co also at it on the other side of the pond. They are goading others on. It`s all bought and paid for by the Israelis. Divide and conquer tactics. A lot of youngsters seem to be very susceptible to these influences, and think it`s okay to use this language

Genuinely, I had no idea that was considered an offensive term these days. I had always thought it neutral. Having checked with Google, "people of colour" would have been more appropriate. I think these days its more appropriate to use the region of ethnicity than anything else - African/American, South Asian (India,Pakistan,Bangladesh), East Asian etc - although being a white Brit I couldn’t say if people take offence to those terms either.
Being a lead in my old job was always harder to try avoid offending the Trans workers than anybody else though, due to them transitioning during my time there.
No matter what though, racist, homophobic or transphobic abuse just isnt acceptable at the football, and the peado chants really need to stop.

What if your mum is Indian, your dad Dutch but you were born in Uganda and raised in South Africa?
Just call them by their name FFS.

Presumably they`d tell you what they prefer?
Otherwise it`s basically none of your business and you`ll just have to not refer to someone by their ethnicity. You poor oppressed lamb.
Honestly never had a conversation with anyone, anywhere and someone told me their “preferred ethnicity” 😂😂😂😂
Is this like that American politician that claimed to be black even though she’s white?
Call me all the names you like, I’ll guarantee I’ve got more personal experience with ethnicity that’s different from British than you 👍🏻

"British" is a nationality, not an ethnicity.

Sad how this discussion has gone to politically correct or wrong phrases and words, it`s actually about largely youngsters being yobbish and abusive, photo them and ban them. Suspect a certain Aberdeen player will get serious abuse, and hes not different ethnicity, because it`s about bad behavior by young thugs. Don`t turn it into an ethnic/racist discussion because it`s not.

It’s British a nationality?
Given it’s a political union of different countries, does that make European a nationality also?

Never said British was an ethnicity however my ethnicity originates from the British isles. Similar to around 95% of people in Scotland.
Wild concept eh! Maybe that’s why they have a box for white British in the census 🤔

Your ethnicity doesn’t originate from the British Isles. It was a blend, over time, from Iberia, Nordic, Roman and Norman (French) influences.

"ethnicity that`s different from British"
So what did you mean then? British is a nationality, not an ethnicity. Perhaps meant "White British"?
