FT Dundee 2-2 Dundee United

Dundee come from behind to a few minutes before FT (90 4, 90 6 OG) to equalise against their neighbours.

And now the dark blues tannoys are playing the tangerines’ anthem 😂

Ross Graham scored the own goal which gave Dundee the point.

I don`t think I`ll ever be able to understand how the guy who was probably one of the worst performers ever to play for us and certainly the worst performer for us under our worst ever manager is the same one who not only plays regularly at Dundee united but has somehow become their captain, but I will enjoy him making mistakes for another club that`s not us

He was just a raw teenager then, p4l1. They were asked to play in a way they weren`t comfortable with, by a manager who thought he was coaching Barcelona and behind them we had a goalie who was low on confidence and on a different wavelength from his defenders.

A recipe for disaster if ever there was one.... 🙄

Not your average Sunday League player.

He was just a young lad when he played for us. I`m always surprised how fans write some players off based on something that happened years ago. I`m not sure why we should enjoy him making mistakes for another team in another league either.

A real example of forgiving a players performance at one club.
He was the proverbial bomb scare here yet within a couple of weeks of leaving he was playing against Celtic and the following month he’d score against Rangers, like two different players.

He was young, but so were many others who massively outperformed him yet somehow have had a much worse career.

I`ll enjoy his failure cos he caused our club a massive about of harm. Many in front of him for causing that harm, but he still was a part of it

Confidence is a massive thing as well. Playing for us at that time can’t have been easy especially a younger lad. Plenty others haven’t done well here but went on to be starters at a higher level from roundabout that time, Liam Polworth an example

I didn`t realise he had such a massive influence on our fortunes. According to wikipedia he made 4 League appearances and 5 League Cup appearances for us between August 2021 and January 2022.

He hardly played for us, it was a loan and he was a kid- he`s still pretty young and not played a great deal. The club was just a revolving door, like many clubs. I cant really remember him, just the name rings a bell, just like the hundred or so that`s been on our books that are either playing at a marginally higher or lower level. None are playing for Real Madrid.

Our worst ever manager ?

Several previous candidates for that - long before the 21st century dawned.

I still can’t decide whether Tidser or Grant was our worst manager in my 30 odd years going. Tempted to say Grant because he did more long term harm signing poor players on longer deals.

Grant is a strong candidate - but Jocky Scott and Tam Forsyth well in contention as were some others.

Hands down Jocky Scott as anyone who was at Meadowbank will remember.

Grant had a duty of care from a personal and human perspective.

Young laddie, toiling, few mistakes and rock bottom confidence in a position (centre back) where those things are probably highlighted or exploited more than anywhere else besides goalie and he kept throwing him in at the deep end when he clearly needed taken out of the firing line.

Actually thought at the time he may end up playing as a holding midfielder as you could see he was decent on the ball.

Oh I remember him now! Yes, we almost wrecked his career by throwing him in an unsuitable position and repeating it, wrecked his confidence, I think we took a fair bit of flack over it too.so you`re not wrong about Grant.

As for managers? Tom Forsyth hands down was dreadful imo. Jockey Scott was dreadful to watch,Davie Hay was the most disappointing, I thought it was a great move and he was terrible, completely aloof and uninterested.

Iain Munro. Easily the worst manager we have ever had. Wrecked all the progress made under Leish.
