Thought it would be useful to start a thread for posting the lyrics and tunes for some of the new songs coming out of the Northwest this season. Lets help everyone get involved to make EEP and Hampden bouncing.

Ultras just sing generic songs. Watch any football match and the ultras will all be singing the same songs. A drum and murmerring the same tune dressed like a gimp.

The days of singing sections having unique songs about their club are long gone.

The "ultras" were conspicious by their abscence v Morton .........including that monotomous drum - thankfully !!!

Maybe I`m a voice crying in the wilderness but why not on the semi final occasion sing songs and chants purely in support of our own team with no references to hatred to the opposition. We have had very good service from a Falkirk player and an ex Falkirk player this season and the loan deal proved mutually beneficial. Falkirk have had a brilliant season and our last month or two has been spectacular. There will be no real losers in the semifinal so let`s make it a happy celebration all round.

"Yep, definitely a voice crying in the wilderness !"

Courageous if nothing else.

We`ve had former Pars heroes go to Bairnsville and vice versa over the years - I chanced upon a Falkirk team photo from the 1970s - Willie Cunningham was the manager and Sir Fergie was in the lineup.

Eddie Connachan had a spell at Brockville after leaving EEP as did fellow 1961 cup winner George Miller who later managed them.

Not to mention the likes of Westy, Paul Smith and big Ivo who also went to the dark side.

Personally, I have nothing against Falkirk as a club - they are very similar to Dunfermline in size, history and achievements. I am disgusted by some of the bile expressed in crowd chants, and saddened by the personal hatred of so many Falkirk and Dunfermline fans for each other. It all gets blown up further by broadcast talking heads and by social media.

I`m old enough to remember when there wasn`t segregation at most matches, with the crowd changing ends at half-time. Now we have mounted police kettling old guys like me to keep me away from the "others". Progress? I think not.

Question for the vintage Pars fans who were around in the 60`s.

We`re Falkirk games as big a rivalry then as it is now?

How many times did we play them in the sixties?

Don`t seem to remember many scrums, the "bridge" at Brockville brings back memories!

Have to say Raith doesn`t remind me of any similar confrontations, maybe it`s just old age, but it was the swinging sixties!🤔

Apparently the rivalry had nothing to do with football initially but Dunfermline Ice Rink in the 60’s where gangs from F*lkirk would come through on a Saturday night and mayhem ensued.
It just carried over to the football in the 70’s.
I was at a game either 1979 or 1980 when fans were scrapping on the pitch at halftime at Brockville.

Results were pretty one-sided in the 60s. According to the Pars database we played them 16 times in the League in the 60s and W11, D2 and L3.

Aye - my dad said a while ago that the animosity started in the 50’s at ice hockey, and stayed over at the ice rinks after both teams (Dunfermline Vikings and Falkirk Lions) ceased playing - just developed into generational inter-town hostility between young lads.

"Alex Totten was the first?"

Eddie Connachan was at Falkirk before AT, as was George Miller.
