I think a change is needed for the playoffs.
The 3rd and 4th should be a one off match cup tie style with 3rd getting the home match.
The same could maybe be argued for 2nd vs the winner of that and the final playoff a home and away match.

I suspect the clubs will want the financial benefits over both legs - especially if there is a chance of a further 2 double headers.

I`d have it 2nd v 3rd home and away, and 4th v 11th in Premiership home and away.
Winner of each goes on to a 1-off final at a neutral venue.

Agree with bounce, ignoring cup final , to be promoted you have to play 6 games that`s a lot, so Seven in a short space of time if we are lucky. Very hard especially if you are struggling with injuries.

Its a big ask and will be tough to navigate. Focus on the cup final. Promotion this year is secondary. More opportunity next year with a settled squad. Go for automatic promotion.

No excuses, but if we finish 3rd or 4th, we play 4 games to navigate a final play off with 2nd bottom in the Premiership. Plus a certain Cup Final. A big ask!!
I’m still a traditionalist and would prefer 2 up 2 down after 36 games.
Are we ready for the top flight ? After beating 3 Premier teams on the road to Hampden, possibly. Realistically, we’ll be even better placed a year from now to go up as Champions!

At least some sense has prevailed from them. Im genuinely surprised they have made the right decision.
Play offs should be the same over the whole pyramid, but you know the Prem sides will reject that as they wont want a double jeoprdy of going down.

The premier league needs to be different as they play more games than the lower leagues. The Premiership is still going on when the lower league playoffs have started.

Thinking ultra optimistically, although we will have a lot of games to play, being 3rd or 4th might actually work in our favour?
Patrick`s last game is the 1st of May and they won`t play another until the 12th. Add to that the fact they might have second place confirmed tonight and take their foot off the gas....
That`s quite a time to stay focused.

The play offs should hopefully benefit us ahead of the final. Imagine finishing the season on 1st May and having no game until the 23rd!
