 Match thread ~ DAFC v Arbroath P/O 1st leg

Feels like we’ve waited for forever for tonight already! A young team built for the big occasion, I’m ready to see some intent!

If anyone gets their hands on the team before me feel free to update. I’ll maybe have had one too many irn bru’s for a school night.

Watch and no get another yelly, Big T. 😀

Looking forward to the game but a bit uneasy about the general feeling among some Pars fans who seem to think we`ll get past Arbroath reasonably comfortably. I think they`ll make life very difficult for us tonight from the very first minute, doing whatever they can to disrupt our rhythm and maybe nick a goal from a breakaway or a set piece. We`ve taken 1 pt out of 9 from our last 3 games, so we`ve no reason to be overconfident, and the manager will ensure there`s no complacency. Fans and players may have to exercise a lot of patience. It won`t matter at all whether our goals arrive in the first 10 mins or the last, apart from the state of some fingernails.

A win by 2 or more goals would be fantastic but even a win by the odd goal would not be a disaster.

Not your average Sunday League player.

You would think Arbroath will come for a draw, they were sitting in at times last friday in a 4-5-1.
Strongest team and try to get 2 or 3 goal lead.
Any bit of a wind on Friday and zero football will be played. Need a few tonight!

On my best behaviour GG, I don’t want a suspension and end up missing the Partick game!

I share your nerves there. I definitely prefer us going in with the feeling we have more to prove than the opposition.

That being said, Sir Neil’s approach on Friday gave me the impression he wants to bury the game in the first leg. I know some 1st fringe players needed minutes and others needed the bench but I sense a statement performance is what he will be going for tonight.

Head says 2-0 but my heart says 3-0!!

Can see it being a frustrating evening. We will have to take our chances when they come along

This will be very difficult. Any sort of win will do ideally you`d want a cushion for Friday. If we can get in front we have a chance. Arbroath will be solid and good on the break

Team is as expected... Hopefully we can replicate the 0-5 away performance rather than the attempts at home this season...
