We’ve obviously played 3-5-2 the majority of the season which has worked a treat. NL has obviously chosen to play Matty Todd at RWB over Shea too, which imo is strange. I feel Shea is a better wing back than full back and Matty is slightly wasted there. But the back three is strong.
However, the change of formation to a 4-2-3-1 against Thistle really shows we can play different ways. I feel we’re more of a threat slightly. Shea slots in at RB. Matty pushed forward into a position I think you get most out of him. Same with Morrison out on the wing as well, as I think he’s pretty ineffective at points as a striker in the 3-5-2. Don’t think Ngwenya is suited to a four at the back tho compared to a three.
We have a good squad of players and I just hope we can get a few of them signed up again to continue building on what Lennon has been developing. However I don’t hold my hopes up keeping Mullen and I’m sure Ngwenya will possibly have a few offers too.
