 Two year project

I think I read somewhere that NL looked on the Pars getting promoted as a two year project.

Some posters are getting a bit twitchy about whether he`s gonna be with us next season.

I don`t see the slightest sign that he`s gonna jump ship.

He and IB are contracted till summer 2027. I expect them both to stay at least till then. I think J Bord probably sees the management as the number one priority to achieve his progressive aims for the club and would do his utmost to keep them.

It’s been a good season with big improvements for us but ultimately, we’re still a championship club. I think that makes folk feel uneasy that a club from the premiership would come in for him 🤷🏻‍♂️

Perhaps us being Pars fans, we’re used to the hard fall 🤣

In the play-offs, we were nearly a match for Partick Thistle, but in terms of consistency over the season we`ve a lot of ground to make up on the 15 points they beat us by in the league. And just catching up wi the season`s runners up isn`t likely to win us the title in the coming season, or get us through the play-offs.

When NL mentions `major rebuild`, I think it`s more than just replacing the players we`d like to keep - it`s strengthening all-round and increasing our scoring capabilities.

"In terms of the team, we have a major rebuild coming up. A lot of these players won’t be here next year...There will be a lot of changes. Hopefully we can build on the nucleus of the squad that we have and improve."

`The nucleus of the squad" suggests there`s a lot more than tweaking to be done, but I think he has said we`re ahead of where he expected us to be.

NL is contracted and on a very nice earner - can`t see why he would want to go elsewhere until that`s honoured.

I happened to be waiting on transport outside the South Stand after the game when Neil Lennon, his partner and his son came down the stairs towards the car park. As he passed me I thanked him for the season just past and asked the question ‘Promotion next year?’. His immediate response was “I hope so” as he left. Read into that what you like.

Well it would be a touch arrogant to say definitely.
He’s well aware the club has a major rebuild this summer and regardless of how good recruitment is, it takes time for that to transfer onto the field.
Players have to gel with the rest and they have to build relationships on and off the park.

I am so excited for next season. I hope and pray we do
the business, and win promotion. For far too long, we have
been languishing in these lower league`s. Let`s get up to the
Premiership, where we should be.
