Loads of talk on various forums that Rangers have had a bid knocked back for Andy Tod and will go back in for him.

I think the club has managed A Tod career well. He has signed up to 2028. He is slowly getting exposure in terms of U21 internationals and training with the Scotland World Cup squad. Small incremental steps. If he moves on in 2027 or 2028 he still has a number of years to play at a higher level. Likewise I see J Tod doing the same

Yeah a premier league team along the lines of Aberdeen or Dundee Utd perhaps.
Heās nowhere near the likes of Rangers, Celtic or the Edinburgh teams right now imo

Exactly, "right now". They`d be buying his undoubted potential, while he`s unlikely to sign and be playing every week, in anothet 18 months? Who knows.

If any of it was true they`d probably be more likely to buy him then loan him out for the season

Trying to buy potential on the cheap?
Heāll be better in 12 months but heās miles off premier league level and not even at consistent championship level just now. Guessing they aināt going to pay the going rate anyway so itās a non story.

Both Tods have the potential to be massive. We see a lot more of Andy than John and he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. While I`d agree he`d potentially struggle in a Rangers team, it could also be the making of him, or it could be Rangers are seeing him as one for the future.

Am I correct in thinking there`s a 3rd Tod brother, currently in the youth setup?
There cannae be many examples of 3 brothers in the same lineup

For years we have had calls for 20 goal a season striker, much to the amusement of "The Realists."
We get a home-grown striker scoring 16, getting called up to the under 21 national side and training with the World cup squad.
Dotnutter verdict - he is still not a consistent Championship player. Some even delighted at the prospect of his. Leaving.
You couldn`t make some folk happy if you gave them next weeks lottery numbers.

He tailed off a bit towards the end of the season but probably burned out a bit from playing so many games.
Had circumstances been different regarding the lack of options with Thomas & Rudden being injured and Kane usually always being the first sub i think he would have been given a wee rest a bit more often!

He had a couple of poor spells last season where he looked jaded and made no impact on games which looked worse as his style and lack of physicality meant he was easily eased out of challenges etc.
It was no doubt his breakthrough season where he was something of an unknown to both us a the opposition, keen to see how he keeps the development going next season, of he can work on a few things theres clearly the potential to have an even better season and and impact far more games.
If we bring in more width and players with a quality final ball it will suit him more, hes got at getting on the end of things but no much as holding the ball up etc.

His form tailed off towards the end of the season, noticeable in the playoffs and cup final - probably too many games due to lack of managerial options for changes up front.
He`s a long way off top SPL level at the moment.

I very much doubt if this was true that they are thinking of him for their first team. Instead they would be following their long held tradition of scooping up young talent to prevent others getting it before burying them in their development structure until they waste away and are released

I can see it. One phrase that caught my attention with the Laurence shank land transfer it was said āwe have a bias towards Scottish players here at Rangersā
1. Utter b@locks of a statement and 2. Now other teams are catching up with the old firm āthe rangers are going back to what they used to do. Instead of spewing millions out on foreign transfers they are going to weaken the teams around them, not saying thatās us but it reminds me of the old tricks.
