With only half of the third place teams going through we likely need to at least have three points and -1 goal difference at worst. Could really do with at least a 2-0 but I`ll say it`s going to be a nervy one niller.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

I`ve been looking at the Fifa ranking points Scotland would get if we beat Brazil.
Curiously it`s about the same as Haiti will get if they beat us - about 35 points.
That would seem to imply that we`re as likely to beat Brazil as Haiti are to beat us.
I guess the ranking system is pretty sure we`ll win!
If you`re interested, here are the rankings, including details for each team`s last five matches:
https://inside.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/men
From `What you need to know about Haiti (BBC sport) -
What are Haiti`s strengths?
Smart recruitment has added pedigree up front and to the midfield. Migne`s side counter-attack effectively at pace, with the new boys shining in a 4-0 win over New Zealand on 2 June.
And what about their weaknesses?
Haiti have played an adventurous 4-2-3-1 formation that leaves them vulnerable in defence. Given the nature of their Group C opponents, expect to see a more cautious 4-4-2 β sit back, protect the back four and hit teams on the break.
Goalkeeper Johny Placide is an important figure but has only just returned from knee surgery.
Which players should I look out for?
Wilson Isidor scored on his first international start in March. Sunderland`s France-born striker switched allegiance to Haiti after being lobbied on social media by fans.
Former Oldham goalkeeper Jonny Placide was also born in France, but in Haiti he is the figurehead of the team.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde of Wolves has had a transformational effect on Haiti since his debut last autumn, both destroying and creating in the middle of the park. An instant fan favourite.
My prediction: Scotland 3 Haiti 1

Here`s an interesting wee thing though - maybe like me, you thought Peru was a diddy team at that time but, according to AI (pinch o` salt?) though there were no Fifa rankings then, Scotland would`ve been 8th and Peru 11th. That surprised me. Even more surprising, by the end of the tournament, Peru would have been 8th and Scotland 11th.
Or is it AI bluffing when it hasn`t got a scooby?
Well, here`s the question I put, with the response:
`What was the ranking of Peru football team when they beat Scotland at world cup?`(I guessed it might be fifty- something)
`There was no official FIFA World Ranking when Peru defeated Scotland 3β1 at the 1978 World Cup, as FIFA did not introduce its official tracking system until December 1992.
However, retrospectively applied metrics and the official tournament outcome provide two ways to measure their relative ranking during that tournament:
Retrospective World Football Elo Ratings
According to the historical World Football Elo Ratings for June 1978, the teams were ranked as follows entering the tournament:Scotland: Ranked 8th in the world.Peru: Ranked 11th in the world.
Official World Cup Final Standings
Peru ultimately outranked Scotland during the tournament itself. Peru finished 1st in Group 4 to advance to the second round, while Scotland was eliminated in the first round. In the final 1978 World Cup Standings, the teams finished:Peru: 8th place overall. Scotland: 11th place overall.
If true - maybe we had a bit of a superiority complex? Maybe not quite such a humiliation after all - and it was in Argentina, possibly an advantage to Peru?
Or possibly AI`s been doing random monkey typing again?
