Looks like he is off to WBA. £2Mill plus add ons - not confirmed as yet.
Baggies mate has picked up on this today ( not old news).
If true that`s what a good model looks like - Falkirk have done well with him

That’s their pitch paid for then and a couple of decent players. If that comes off that must be the deal of the century for Falkirk.

West Bromwich Albion is close to finalising a seven-figure deal to sign Falkirk striker Barney Stewart.
The bumper deal will also include several future add-ons for the Bairns.

£2M is mental considering he’s still so inexperienced. Hope he does well though. Should be in the Scotland squad soon hopefully. Ahead of Hirst anyway.

That’s the difference of even being in the premier league, look what we got for Nisbet against that Hibs got. WBA wouldn’t have looked at him in the championship and if they did Falkirk would likely get £500k at best

The fact that our highest ever sale is 650,000 still blows my mind. The number of average players Scottish clubs (even `provincial` ones) have sold for more than that is just ridiculous.
I think he`ll go well at WBA too - seems a good lad with a good head on his shoulders. we`ll be seeing him playing for Scotland soon, exactly the profile of striker that Clarke likes.

Barney has the potential BUT could be another EL Bakhtoui! He was brilliant for us and had a massive future but left to go to Dundee before he was ready to hit that level and it completely ruined him! I hope for Barneys sake he has a good agent who will advise him not to run before he can completely walk!

Worse thing for him would be his instinct as a striker being coached out of him.
He thrived up here by just being himself without the traditional upbringing through the youth set ups.
His naivety is part of his charm.

In all seriousness, where would he be without his loan here. Well, he might have got a loan elsewhere and performed equally as well there but chances are he wouldn’t have been playing at the same level.
One thing is for certain, he wasn’t making the Falkirk match day squad and coming to Dunfermline on loan has been the move that has triggered the transformation in his career.

Was just thinking that last night, he might even have been on the end of season "Frees" list!🤔

I think he is a natural goalscorer. They are few and far between. The deal suggests a period of development that he clearly needs to reach top flight level week in week out. If he keeps his head down, works hard and disciplines himself, he will be destined for the top.

Nice touch from Barney giving us a mention in his comments on the move -
`I had a great chat with the manager James Morrison. He won loads of caps for Scotland and he’s got loads of contacts up there, so he knows lots about me. I’m so excited by the challenge of playing in the Championship. I love the frequency of the games and it’s one of the best leagues in the world to watch. To be a part of the division will be incredible. I saw a stat the other day which said that only one of my goals was scored when I had a touch before the finish, which suggests there’s plenty of first-time finishes. I come to life around the box and that’s my speciality. I’m very confident that I can score the goals here at the Albion, just like I did last year for Dunfermline and Falkirk. I’m a confident person and I’ll always back myself. I’d absolutely love to find the same form as last year, starting in pre-season.`

You`ve got to love Barney`s confidence.
Falkirk fans can pretend he was there player, but it`ll always be his spell with the Pars that ignited his career.
I hope he`s massively successful, because I`d love him to play for Scotland at some point, but he really seemed to go off the boil towards the end of the season. I hope he doesn`t get his joyful energy coached out of him.

I don`t think it`s a case of going off the boil. I think opposition coaches eventually became aware of his threat and countered it more effectively
