Visiting the US for the World Cup and seeing the stadiums was eye opening.
Boston Arena had superb train connections straight to the stadium, plenty of parking and was furnished with an abundance of pubs, restaurants, cafes surrounding the outer-perimeter of the stadium to entertain and host fans before entering the inner perimeter.
There were hotels in close proximity.
The seating in the stadium was comfortable and you are very close to the pitch.
The whole set-up was geared with the fan in mind and such a refreshing approach in direct comparison to our very own Hampden Park.
Maybe one day the SFA can upgrade the facilities on offer at our National Stadium 🤔

Personally thought both stadiums were pretty guff and out in the middle of nowhere. Trains for the first game were a total shambles according to several mates who used them
We used Rally buses and while it was ok it made going to and from hampden seem well organised

Funnily enough I was at Hampden on Thursday to see a wee band that I follow.
Can`t say I was impressed with the lack of added trains and carriages on said trains.
The queues to get the train from the station to mount Florida were horrendous.
Luckily we went early so avoided all that.
Plenty of food waggons about on the day (although I realise these aren`t permanent) and not as pricey as I thought they would be for a change.
Return trains were an absolute farce.
First train only had 4 carriages.... Luckily (again ) , where we were standing was just where a set of train doors stopped so we got on no bother but there was hundreds left behind.
First time I`ve been to Hampden since pars lost the skol cup final and from memory it was easier to get there back then.

We missed the chance when it was being developed - should have done a deal with SRU (who are also skint with an underused stadium) and jad a redeveloped Murray field.
Hampden itself isnt good -but it has good transport links, and is actually in a city
You can beat it with out of town stadiums, you might have enjoyed the two times you went to the one in Massachusetts, but it`s in a ridiculous location - imagine going there on a regular basis? NAH.

The Boston Stadium was amazing but the transport links were pathetic. We sat outside the stadium for 2 hours in the bus before the game stuck in traffic.
It would be like building Hampden in Kinghorn. Wouldn’t want to goto that stadium on a regular basis.
Taxi drivers wanted $500 for a 45 mile journey after the match. Parking was about $100. There’s very little positives other than the stadium structure itself.

Comparing apples with oranges. Those stadiums were built to be used year round. We need to get away from this idea that a football stadium is used every other week. Unfortunately, it`s difficult to achieve year round use without moving out of town, which is the last thing I`d want the Pars to ever do.
Agree with others on Murrayfield though. What a missed opportunity but no surprise given how useless the SFA are. I suppose they got Hampden cheap...

This is my thoughts. I’ll never forgot the official SFA line saying they knocked back the offer of Murrayfield as the SRU would not allow them office space and they wouldn’t remove their SRU seats from behind the posts.
We keep going around and around on Hampden. I think the only thing people agree on is that it’s not fit for purpose.

The infrastructure within Gillette stadium is excellent. However, the views from the Gods made the players look like ants. That’s a reason why they have vast screens behind the goals.
Getting to the Haiti match was both tiring and stressful given the heat.
Some of my family went by train, $80 return for the 24 miles. They arrived at South station five hours before the game, queued outside the station for an hour and a half in 30+C to board a train that had one working toilet.
On reaching the stadium there were large queues again to get through security.
I drove by car from Boston. It took nearly three hours with the last mile taking an hour and a half due to the traffic controls set up by the police. Again the crush at security.
Reserved parking around the stadium or within a mile was $100.
Not a pleasant experience for those with young families or the elderly.
Fortunately the situation improved for the Morocco game.

The first trip by train to the Boston Stadium was tedious going and returning. The second was better organised. All the bars outside were selling tenants lager at a reasonable price. In the stadium however a can of beer was $19 which was ridiculous, though the food was reasonable.
The timing of the kick off had something to do with the frustration. A 9pm kickoff meant the game wasnt finishing till nearly 11pm, then you had to wait in the queue for a 30 minute train ride to the centre, and then a further journey to wherever you were staying.

Anyone know if the last redevelopment of Hampden had possible future redevelopments in mind?
Redoing the away ends with modern stands close to the pitch and increasing the capacity to say 62,000 would be a decent improvement.

I was in the top tier and still could see it was a penalty on McGinn. So even with being up high you don’t miss the difficult decisions. It is a better view than Hampden, I would agree

Hate being so far away from the pitch at Hampden. I think it`s time it was upgraded.
It could also do with a little better infrastructure in and around the local community with hotels, restaurants and pubs to facilitate fans whom arrive early and depart late to avoid the congestion.

Spain don`t have a national stadium.
Our problem is cost, when it came to redeveloping, it was Queens Parks stadium, Thatcher back tracked on most of the grant, and we ended up with the cheap option, which was basically concreting over 3/4 of the ground and bunging a roof on it.
We don`t really need a national stadium, and if we did, we have Murray field which is also underused, and the SRU are debt ridden, in an ideal world we share it, and use the sale of Hampden to bring it up to scratch.
As for fan zones etc near Hampden, a 5 minute stroll and you have every eating option available , before the final we had a surprisingly excellent Italian. Every other cuisine was represented, there`s loads of places. Transport I`ve always found decent, there`s 2 train stations within a short walk.
We`re stuck with the bowl of Hampden, it`s not going to get redeveloped, the cost just to square the ends would be vast, the cost to sink a pitch? The country is completely skint, were not going to spend hundreds of millions to update a stadium that`s used about 6 times a season.

It`s all down to money. Most of the NFL stadia stage fewer than 10 games per season so they are now designed from scratch to be concert arenas and to hold other events.
TV revenue for sport in USA is enormous compared to Scotland.
Fact is Scotland has a small aging population and can`t generate the taxes to subsidise the £billion stadium that would be required while trying to run essentials like the NHS.
Hampden is a 20th century stadium with dreadful viewing for almost all the fans and sad to say we will be stuck with it for decades.

We got Ubers to and from Gillette Stadium. Getting to the game was simple enough, we arrived five hours before kick off and walked straight to the bars nearby, where we got served straight away. After the first game, getting an Uber back was a shambles, but we eventually got one. For the second game, we went back to the bars for an hour or so after full time and let the rush clear before ordering an Uber.
Miami was a shambles. We got an Uber and then walked towards the stadium, only to be told, "It`s not possible to walk to the stadium, but you can walk back after the game." We ended up taking a two minute shuttle bus ride to the stadium, although it was pretty cool walking over the F1 track. After the game, we got an Uber back with no problems. Just got it to get us at the McDonald`s so managed a bite to eat as well. Miami felt really unorganised
Our experience over the 3 games seemed easier than those who opted for other forms of public transport.
I`ve always found Hampden easy enough to navigate, from the bus parking to the ground and back again. After being at Murrayfield for rugby, though, I`d say the public transport after the game leaves a lot to be desired.

Feared the worst after hearing about problems at the Haiti game with the trains & a crush getting in.
Dunno if they learnt from it, or was just luck but we thankfully had absolutely no issues whatsoever getting to / from the Morocco game.
We were slot A for the train and it was pretty well organised - no one was standing in our carriage and even a few spare seats.
We spent pre match in Patriots Place which I thought was excellent, before making our way round not long after the stadium opened and again, absolutely no issues - no queues and definitely no crush.
After the game we hung about Patriots Place again, grabbed a few beers and a pizza, spent time chatting to some lovely Moroccans & headed round for the train home.
Worst part of the day - we literally just missed a train & had to wait 20 mins for the next one (lol) but overall it was an absolute doddle.
Some stadium and as I said - thought Patriots Place was really good 😎👏🏼

We loved Patriots Place. The prices weren`t terrible either, especially considering the location.

I was in Slot A as well SQ and after a doddle in the queue, everything went smoothly.
The wee catering village was superb and was so full of life and atmosphere.
The stadium was awesome and we had great views from our seats and so close to the pitch.
Had a few beers after match and waited for queues to die down and were surprised to get a text from the Trainline that the queues were small and we should attempt boarding - it was seamless
Miami was easy to get to although congested. After the match was a different affair as no staff were clued to advise you. All the Uber drivers were herded into a "rented car park" from a nearby Casino at the last minute and you had to catch a bus there. After an hour of asking all the wrong people whom made matters worse sending you in a constant loop around the saltadium we managed to meet our stressed out Uber driver
All in all it was not at all bad
