Glad the NW is open, should create a better atmosphere and well done to the club for the prices and listening to and acting on supporters feed back.
Tickets are now on sale for our upcoming League Cup matches with Dumbarton and Cove Rangers.
The home matches in the Premier Sports Cup will take place at KDM Group East End Park. A reminder: season cards are not valid for this match.
Following feedback received from supporters after cup matches last season, in which there were stand closures, the club is trialling opening the Main and North West stands for these fixtures. Pars supporters will be housed in the Main Stand (South Stand West Wing and SRJ Windows South Stand) and the North West Stand.
Supporters requiring wheelchair and ambulant disabled tickets can still purchase these in the Norrie McCathie Stand for this fixture. If further assistance is required, please email shop@dafc.co.uk.
Dumbarton and Cove Rangers supporters will be housed in the Main Stand (South Stand East Wing).
Pricing for the match will be as follows:
Adult – £12
Concession* – £10.
U12** – £1

Anyone had problems booking tickets, it’s not letting me book an U12 with two adult tickets in the main stand?
You can get an U12 for 94p as well if anyone likes a discount ;-)

I sat in the NW for a couple of the Scottish cups games and I don’t know if it’s just because I’m used to the height of the norrie but the view is terrible for looking at the whole pitch

Maybe just got used to the Norrie. Give or take the odd game here and there and I’ve sat in the NW since seats were put in, and the view is fine.

Not really sure how it’s a compromise to have people in the Norrie go sit with the NW when it was Norrie regulars who highlighted the poor and discriminatory chanting from 50 quid a season part time kids!
Your choice is a poor view obscured by pillars in the main stand whilst hearing werthers originals clattering af falsers or sit with kids singing homophobic and sectarian chants whilst doing keepy uppys with a trainer!
Saying it’s only fair to trial this is nonsense . It’s only cheaper to run and not done in the interest of the paying punter.

Won`t be much of a crowd for these games, are they not less than a thousand ? so it`s worth trying the NW to see if it works for the fans.
I typically sit in the Norrie, it`s a good view, easy access etc. if it`s possibly a boring game or one that I`m not too fussed (Premier sports, some league cup etc) go to the main stand- there`s a nice view over the graveyard, when the sun goes down if the games flat!
Couple of the end of season games I tried the NW ( I always went there when I was younger) and that`s a different view too- just make sure one of the pillars isn`t in the way.
Worth trying.

I must have missed the poll after the last games where the stands were blended where we all said “ This was brutal, can we try this again but squeeze us in the north west next time “

From what I see, the NW is the obvious place for singing etc - but only seems to be lively on bigger occasions.
If we`re struggling against a Morton or someone, the whole atmosphere is flat.
It will be similar against Cove/Dumbarton I`d imagine as we should(being the main word) very comfortable in the game.
C'mon Ye Pars!

I suppose it might be cheaper to run, although I would like to see some evidence of that, particularly as the Norrie will still have to be open, lit, staffed and cleaned for use by disabled fans.
A more valid concern IMO is that the toilet arrangements in the NW Stand are primitive and inadequate by modern standards, and particularly when compared with those in the Norrie. I say that as a ST holder in the NWS - perhaps improvements would be made if Board members were to occasionally sit in that stand.

We only have David Cook and Ian Laing that attend games regularly as Directors along with Drew the PST rep. Big Leish isn’t on the board yet chairman, go fathom?

Yeah, SNW have become a bunch of Primary school kids who are more interested in throwing shoes about and generally messing about….and the rest of us who sit there have never been constant singers really.
Could be doing with SNW getting organised again but it seems to be a shaddow of itself the past season and a bit.

Why do we need to close a section? The Norrie probably won`t be closed completely because of the wheelchair accessible area.
If the Norrie is most likely going to remain open for the disabled section, why not just open the rest of it as well?

there is "segregation" in as much as the terrace behind the goal is for away fans and the stand is for home fans and there is a netting between the 2 as well as the players changing pavilion in between. Sat in the home stand last summer for the friendly and absolutely zero issue.
