At no great expense and no great amount of effort, we (well Brian`s little helpers) bring you the brand new, all singing and all dancing, new edition - its project name is "2026-2027".
Very, very soon, at a time of our choosing we will release this IT masterpiece onto the numerous brains and experts on football matters, known as "posters" in these parts.
The World Cup is over with DJAS83 storming to victory with a world record haul of 255 points. OK. There were a few more matches than previously!! But their ability to get a vast number of totally correct results right was mightily impressive.
On league business, last year saw Stanza rule the roost, but with the lowest total since we got back to the Championship - mind you, you can only beat what is beneath you!!
Last three years winners were.
2025/26 Stanza 321
2024/25 AraPars 330
2023/24 Nick_dafc1 336
So, it is definitely getting easier to win. Not that that explains my poor run of bad luck.
Anyway, after final IT checks, the league will commence, shortly. Time to swot up before hand.
Be in it to win. To beat Stanza`s score (excluding bonus points) you only need an average of 1.788889 per match to win. Easy Peazy.

As well as the few who have signed up but not yet nominated the winning team and top scorer, there seem to be a lot who have not yet paid the £5 entry fee (donated to DADSC, I believe).
My understanding is that this payment is necessary to be eligible for the remarkably generous competition prize (a season ticket for 2027/28) so I would urge you all to sign up and pay the £5, even if that reduces my chances of winning - again. 😁

Exactly. It`s about the least important thing on planet earth but no point letting people change teams if they`ve had a horror start (like many people did with Ross County). Hard enough for idiots like me who forget at least 4 weekends a season without this as well 😂

Good. All votes for league champion and top scorer should be made before a ball is kicked in the league, just as there is in predicting the scores of individual matches.

I see from the Leaderboard that JazzyBazzy scored 25 points in the first round of matches, which is amazing - to do that he must have got all five Championship scores exactly correct!
Has that ever happened before? Will he get a special prize for being infallible?
BUT his figure in brackets for correct scores is only (2) - so is there some other way of accumulating points, or is the system needing tweaked?

He has Robbie Muirhead as top scorer so 10 points added for that.

It updates every week along with the scores. So when Ollie Shaw scores a hat-trick next week all those that have picked him will score 10 bonus points and they will be taken away from the current leader as long as they don`t sxore too 😀

Seems bizarre to add those bonus scores before the end of the season.
If you didn`t guess any scores correctly and your top goalscorer was overtaken then you`d be on negative points for that week.

It is very bizarre indeed and i dont believe people were informed before the season started. The wording on the site itself suggests its bonus points for picking the league winner and top scorer of the season as a whole (which is what 99% of people would expect)

I didn’t realise that either. The word Tournament means the competition as a whole, not every match. Why not just write match rather than tournament? And match winner rather than competition?

yes that is correct. it doesn`t say it is cumulative, as Rusty says, it is a dynamic score taking into account the current Team and Top Scorer. if these change you then lose the points again. those points don`t get added accumulativly each game.
the bonus is at one point, you may find your top and get a bonus prize.

For any one taking part this year a reminder that prediction scores for any match in the future can be made and changed at any point up to the start of the match.
I always do a month in advance now in case I forget to add each week. Very embarrassing being involved then forgetting on several occasions one season!
