Long Throw Ins into the Box

Coming back a lot from teams this season…much better to watch than the usual pass it back nonesense. Surely we have 1 player that can launch the ball into the box? Mind u we don’t have a player that can punt the ball into the box!

Donnelly tried one against Ross County and he was about a yard on the pitch when he threw it 🤷🏼

Delap made a career out of it.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Mark Haro was probably the last long throw specialist we had. But that was over thirty years ago.

Big Ivo had a good long throw.

More recently, Josh Edwards specialised in long throw-ins, didn`t he? He doesn`t seem to have featured at Charlton for almost a year. What sort of injury does he have?

ETA - It was an impact injury to his ankle in Sept last year which doesn't seem to have healed as hoped although they were expecting him to be available at the start of this season.

I checked on the Charlton website at the weekend and he seems to be playing his part in the social events of the club to keep him involved, which is nice. Seems they have a lot of good things to say about him down there.

I don`t recall the long throw being a tactic that yielded many goals.

TBF, I don`t recall any tactic yielding many goals...

I`m sure we scored from it once and kept trying it after that.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.
