In doing a bit of research into Josh McPake, I discovered that James is now working as a coach with the Ellevate Coaching Academy in Dubai. He`s also a qualified boxing coach!

I was just talking about him yesterday saying I wonder where he is. Far too good to be out the game. The Germans shafted him. I reckon if he was backed in th same way as lennon we might already be out this league.

I too wondered how we might have done had the Germans given him some financial backing, or if he hadn`t been sacked before the new owners had a proper chance to assess him.

might not as been as much but he had backing and wasted it, he was lucky to get as long in the job as he actually got.

James McPake was also our manager and had Josh McPake on trial, but must have thought he wasnt good enough and he ended up at Stirling 🤷🏻♂️ What could have been

I was wondering about him also.
As you say, he got shafted by the Germans, starting the season with one goalie, and not being able to sign players until the last minute.
Will always be grateful for the promotion season, and in the first season back in the Championship we were doing fine until a horrible injury crisis- he handled this really well.
We were right to sack him, but most of the blame was the lack of interest by the Germans - they weren`t bad people at all, I just think they wildly underestimated what was needed at this level.
He got shafted at Dundee also, and I`ve always thought he is a decent manager, so it`s good he has got this job.

That promotion season was like the Paton days, connection between the players and fans felt like it was back to way it had not been in a long time.
Genuinely felt we had something really good going and to build on, if he was backed properly we could have done what Falkirk did IMO.

Probably a victim of circumstance rather than being a bad manager. That would be the wrong way to judge him.

He got the better of the John McGlynn team that went all the way to the top 6 in the Premiership afterwards, I thought they had a far better squad than us that season
We were right to let him go when we did, he wasn`t the main problem but he was certainly a big part of it the tactics he stuck by. He must feel sick looking on at the investment the club now gets under the Americans these days though
